Whats not to love about this deal?? :)

  • +2

Super funny, but I would not trust them with any sensitive documents. I wonder if they will delivery my couch for me…

  • +1

i don't get it ? why would they do this for free ?

    • +1

      exercise

    • +3

      Dunno, maybe a limited time….

    • +2

I guess for publicity? Or for fun? I don't particularly get the appeal once it's not free. It's cool and all… But as a customer, wouldn't you still just be giving them a package, then the person goes off… Does heaps of cool stuff (which nobody sees)… Then the other person receives it. Doesn't seem like a commercially viable business to me.

it's quicker than the usual way.

who would work for nothing ?

      • pensioners ?

      • illegal immigrants ?

      • +2

Considering the physical demands of Parkour…I'm going with pensioners.

        'Hardcore Parkour!'

      • Why would they work for free? They need money not exercise.

    From the about us page:

"Our Runners do not need roads"

Definitely getting images of Doc Brown and a flying DeLorean right now.

    This can't be for real:

    National/International Personal delivery:

Any high priority, delicate or confidential items can safely be transported by our team of messengers directly to any national or INTERNATIONAL location. Your Messenger will escort the item directly to the chosen recipient. Identification must be provided by the receiver of the delivery. Our team at Head Office will be in constant contact with the Messenger in order to provide tracking updates to the client.

        naruto style….

    • +2

Their website doesn't say that particular service is free, though. (And I doubt they'd be parkouring on water!)

There are already personal courier services out there that do the same thing — hiring someone to accompany a parcel on a flight and hand deliver it at the destination. I remember back in my backpacking days seeing ads looking to employ such couriers; basically some extra cash to take a few parcels with you if you were heading overseas. Always seemed rather dodgy to me. ;)

  • Seriously, my guess is that this will be a 'stunt' for some type of business consultancy ("Excaton?") - commercial or government, eg. Melbourne City Council.

(Perhaps they were late for a launch on 1 April! - Perhaps it was launched on 1 April)

A quick phone call to one of the two numbers might reveal all.

    Just guessing!!!

    "Banking Deposits:

Free Runner Messengers provide a Banking Deposit service to all companies that is fast, safe and easy. This service results in your business saving time and stress, allowing you to get the most out of your working day."

Anyone going to try giving them cash to deposit?

    • +4

I wouldn't mind giving them a bag full of 20 cent coins >_> (20cent coins weigh the most for their $ equivalent)

      • +2

Heheh that would test their service for sure.

  • +2

    mirror's edge :)

    • +2

Haha yeah that's what I was thinking especially once seeing the photo of a guy running/jumping off the building on their website. LOLz

  • is OP rep?

  • Apparently they have another site.

  • If this is real, it will be totally awesome.
    Though I wouldn't abuse it.

  • is this fad still going?

  • +2

From website : "Person to Person Express Delivery:

Ideal for sensitive packages such as legal or confidential documents or memory cards that you need delivered to a specific person in record time. Maybe you need to have us run over and get something signed"

Is that the only way you can make them stop - by running them over?

  • -2

    Not really a free service:

"You choose how much you can donate; you know what your message is worth. Just do what you think is right.

Your donations are vital to pay for the infrastructure, messengers, equipment training and tools that Free Runner Messengers needs to operate."

Yay, now I never have to walk to get my maccas. Wonder if this service works at late hours, especially a during a night of some inebriation.
