you should read comments/reviews first. seems like a dud watch
I tried Samsung gear S3. Poor battery life. Pretty much useless. I'm not going to use too many apps apart from calorie tracking. All the watches out there are weirdly shaped to my liking. This is the only one I could like looking at. So let's see. Oh well
This isn't true for everyone, I have been using a S3 for more than a Year now, and its battery life has been nothing short of excellent. It charges very fast and I sometimes wear it all day and sometimes to bed and wakeup with plenty of battery life left for next day. It has some great apps plus some of the best watch faces I have ever seen.
Your poor battery life maybe due to power hungry app or watch face..
That's the opposite to the reviews I read.
I'd love to get one, they look great. But I've seen too many reviews of them being slow. It uses the same processor as my zenwatch 3 which is almost unusable since upgrading to Android Wear 2.0
I purchased a Ticwatch Pro during the Black Friday sale. I had a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier before this.
The Ticwatch Pro is powered by the almost three year old Snapdragon 2100 - it is laggy.
If I had my time again, I would wait for a Wear OS watch with the new Snapdragon 3100 Chip (e.g. Fossil Sport).Too bad the 3100 uses the same main processor as the 2100
So gear s3 is better for you?
Yep. I had the S3 from Dec 2016 and found it to be great. Definitely not perfect (e.g. Samsung voice waste of time).
In my experience:
Battery life on S3 far superior to Ticwatch even with Ticwatch having the LCD - I only get a bit over a day out of the Ticwatch even with tilt-to-wake & heart rate monitoring disabled.
S3 snappier than the Ticwatch.
The rotating bezel on the Samsung was/is brilliant.
In my opinion, the only positive the Ticwatch has over the S3 is Google Assistant…. and for that reason alone, I would not go back to Samsung. So fingers crossed Google release their own Pixel smartwatch sometime soon.I'm happy enough with amazfit I think. I am not sure voice assistant would be that useful on a watch
@[Deactivated]: Neither did I…. until I got the Ticwatch. Being able to control the smart-lights & switches at home without needing to find, pickup and open app on my phone. Controlling Netflix. Starting fitness tracking. Replying to texts. Asking questions. Even just simple reminders are very convenient.
IMO, it makes much more sense having the assistant available on my watch (something I have on my wrist and ready at all times) compared to my phone that is either in my pocket or somewhere out of reach. But each to their own.@nicksman: Wow, that is a good point! I might be looking at the next galaxy s4 then
Thanks mate, bought one! I hope it's worth it
