I used the following as reference to remove Sony bloatware. I did this manually and it cleaned up Android immensely!!

I also found the following helpful

      Same here :)

  • Has anyone received their tracking but has no updates since? Sitting on "in transit"

    • Yep. Was supposed to be delivered before Christmas but still don't have it delivered. Sitting in Transit since 17/12. Called Sony and DHL multiple times and they keep blaming each other for the debacle. I am sick and tired of these idiots already. I will most likely cancel the order if I don't receive any update within the first 3 days of next week.

      • Does DHL actually have the TV though? Hopefully there will be progress after the holiday period.

I've had mine in transit since the 24th but that's during peak holiday

        • Sony says DHL has the consignment but they have lost the whole pallet consignment of TV's and they are trying to locate it.

DHL says Sony hasn't released the unit from the warehouse yet and need more paperwork for DHL to be sending this.

DHL is probably the culprit here as they are slammed with the holiday deliveries. And they don't really give a crap as they keep telling me to contact Sony as I have placed the order with them. It has been extremely frustrating experience dealing with both these idiot parties.

Hopefully you will get yours soon.

          • @tendliya: Thanks for your update

I'll give DHL and Sony a call tomorrow.

            • @Richardlwf89: No worries. Please update here as to what they have said. Thanks.

              • @tendliya: They will check the Victorian warehouse for the shipment and get back to me.

There's a scan that it's been picked up in NSW but no scan on its arrival in VIC

                • @Richardlwf89: Same answer they kept telling me for few days and nothing has changed even today. So, not sure if this is actually legit reason. DHL is slammed with all the holiday deliveries I believe. I am assuming it will probably take another 7 - 10 days for the unit to arrive if we are lucky.

                  • @tendliya: Sounds like it. People in the other Sony thread from Sydney are only getting their TV now. I'd imagine interstate will be a while.

As long as I get it. I can wait another week. Anything longer is ridiculous

                  • @tendliya: Mine arrived in the depot, awaiting a phone call to book in a delivery date

                    • @Richardlwf89: I got mine yest.(Brisbane) placed an order on 25th using Sony coupon code.

  • What's the DHL number to call? Can't find this and the tracking references aren't linked with other DHL websites.

    • You will have their supplier chain phone number 1300 362 194 and quote your reference number.

The likely answer you going to get from DHL is "The order is with the pallets department. It is a 2 person job to deliver this heavy package. We have already forwarded them an email asking to contact you to organise the delivery ASAP. We will send another email now". Useless bunch of jokers.

      • I've called 3 times and this is exactly the answer i've been getting!

  • Ordered on 24th, still no TV and update

    • Ordered on 25th. Melbourne. My status shows "shipment held at depot" since 2nd Jan. No tracking updates and no calls to arrange delivery since then.

I am going to call them every day to hassle them!

      • I placed the order on 15th or 16th December. It was supposed to be guaranteed delivery before Christmas if the order was placed before 18th December. Sony confirmed my order on 17th December and I still don't have the TV. Called DHL on Friday to give them an earful. They promised that they will get somebody to call me on Monday (today), I waited until 4 pm and of course nobody called. I called DHL at 4 pm and after putting more pressure, the answer I get is "The girl who usually books these orders was not in today and so we couldn't call you today. But because you are on the phone now, I can book it in for you and we can deliver your TV tomorrow between 9 am and 11 am. She would have been in tomorrow and we would have called you to organise a delivery" I then asked "If that girl doesn't come tomorrow or for the next one week, that means no one takes care of those orders?" Obviously no response from DHL when I asked the question. So, if I didn't call today, no one from DHL would have bothered to call me today.

By far THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my life. It is all Sony's fault and DHL would not give a damn about it as it is Sony who sold you the TV and they have to be held accountable for this debacle. Anyone has any ideas how to go from here in dealing with Sony? I am not asking for any discounts from Sony but they need to be held accountable for providing such crap service to their customers and hopefully they will learn a thing or two if enough people put pressure on them.

        • Yes, Sony should be accountable to the customer - however, in my view, the fault lies with DHL. Sony did their part in dispatching the item quickly after accepting the order.

It is up to DHL to deliver it to the customer.

          Note the following:

          1. Terrible tracking website
          2. Item seems to have arrived at the depot and "on hold" - yet no one bothers to call you to arrange delivery.
          3. When you call customer service, you get the general spiel that someone will contact you to organise delivery.
          4. When you ask if you can make the booking, you aren't allowed to - you have to simply wait indefinitely for that proverbial call.

If you would like to give Sony a call to give them an earful - try this number: 1300137669

Sony should consider finding a new delivery partner.

Perhaps "DHL Supply Chain" have given Sony a heavily discounted rate or something - which is why Sony is able to offer free delivery.

From what I noticed - "DHL Supply Chain" seems to be quite separate from the rest of DHL or DHL Express, as the tracking number does not work on the usual DHL website.

        • @tendliya - Did you receive your TV today?

I just called again - and this time was told that it is “3-5 business days from arriving at depot” before you will get called to organise delivery.

The last claimed that apparently I should have been advised by Sony of the time frame.

Can anybody confirm if that was the case?

          • @proudwanderer: Hey mate, received my TV this morning. I was told that it is 3 - 5 business days from arriving at the depot as well. The fact is that DHL is overloaded with Sony orders during the holiday season and now they don't have enough drivers to deliver all these orders.

In your case, it will be probably 5 business days at the end of today since the unit has been at the depot since 2nd Jan. If it doesn't get delivered today, give them a call again tomorrow and they cannot use the same bull$hit reason. Hopefully you will get the TV delivered this week.

            • @tendliya: I received the TV today too - which was very surprising.

Received the call from the driver at about 6.30pm telling me that he will deliver it at 7pm.

Strange thing was the driver was alone - I thought this was supposed to be a 2 man job!

So I had to help him to carry the TV out of the truck and into my house.

Wonder what he would have done if I was an old woman or something…

              • @proudwanderer: Good to hear that you got the TV. DHL is all messed up I think. The 65 inch delivery is clearly a 2 person job as it is massive and I am not sure what the driver would have done if you couldn't help him. Poor delivery guys.

Yesterday when I called around 4.30 pm to see if there is any chance that the TV can be delivered last night and DHL told me there is no way they can deliver it outside the business hours but they delivered your tv at 7 pm. They need to get their act together. At least you got the TV now. Enjoy the new toy.

              • @proudwanderer: They were asking me if i could help lift the tv i bought off the truck. The answer to that was a no. Originally they were asking if i could take it off the truck myself. Which was an even bigger no.

Glad they did ask first or the driver will be scratching his head how this tv was going to be taken into the house.

                • @xoom: They didn’t ask first for me. The driver called around 6.30pm and asked if I was home and told me he’ll deliver the TV around 7pm. When he showed up - it was just 1 man and a truck!
