  Silent clocks are more expensive from what I remember, the ones at Kmart/target all make the ticking sound, which in a bed room/nearby is kind of annoying

    Try $2.50 from IKEA. Got one. Very happy with it. No ticking sound at all.

  Is the second hand sweeping type like an automatic watch or ticking like a quartz type? I'm asking as some quartz movement can mimic a sweeping hand. If it is the case, i might be tempted to get one for tye bedroom.

  You may like to know that there are quite a few Ikea clocks that don't tick available.

  As one example here is a 32cm stainless steel no-tick clock for under $30.
