It's hard arguing prices with the OzB community. This place is great.

    • Damn, looks like this was removed over night. And the ebay listing is broken af

    • New week's BigW catalog… Price back to $149.
Kogan is much cheaper ($89 delivered) for effectively same product.

      • But I want to pick it up, postage just gets things lost

  • How's this compare to the kogan one?

  • -5

They can't be serious? You can just buy a $10 to $20 one at kmart. Infact you could buy 6………………….

    • +1

Ahh but 'silent' and 'energy efficient' and 'Kambrook'. I just bought 2 Kogan ones.

      • +2

Trust me, in 35+ degree heat energy efficiency and silence are the least of your problems. I'd rather pay three times as much for the noisy, inefficient portable aircon. Or for the equivalent amount of money get a normal fan with misting which does a much better job.

        • normal fan with misting which does a much better job

Good luck with that in your bedroom.

          Trust me

    • 200+ upvotes & many happy users at the Kogan equivalent fan deal.

    • cheap fans are a common cause of house fires. they are dangerous to use overnight in bedrooms.

Or buy the Kogan equivalent for $89

  • This or a vornado 660? Please help its been too hot lately

    • vornado 660 is good. I have one running every night. Pretty cool in the room

    • Don't buy the Vornado, worst fan I've ever purchased. There is some sort of circle Jerk about this fan I just can't understand, and I fell for it. I bought it buying into the 'whole room airflow' rubbish and it's nothing more than a short, single direction fan that costs way too much to not come with a remote. Yes, it doesn't come with a remote. And due to the 'soft' power buttons on it you can't turn it off at the wall and have it resume when you turn it back on, so no 'smart plug' retro fits or similar.

Edit: But, if after reading that you still want one, you can buy my white 660 for $100 (BNE, with box)

      • Yes, it doesn't come with a remote

        THE HORROR!

But seriously they do seem overpriced. Merkins seem to love them.

      • What a load of garbage. Vornado 660 >>>> these pedestal fans

  • I just bought this monster from Woolies on the weekend for $35 https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/684025/ade…

It sure does make a hell of a noise but also feels like a tornado, even on setting 1 it is pumping serious air. You have got me wanting to test power usage on it to see how it fairs.

    • I've got 2 of the Heller branded version - free from neighbour who didn't like them. On now moving air around the house (on lowest setting).
Good air movers, but for a very different purpose to this fan.

Most would not want that high airflow, fixed direction, 3 speed (controls only on fan), bit too noisy monster (way down on the) floor fan in their bedroom while sleeping!

Compare that with this 12 hour programmable timer, 26 wind speed options, quiet operation mode, DC motor with energy saving technology, 85 degrees oscillation, height adjustable!

Read the discussion of the Kogan version to understand why these are 209+ popular.

I'm happy with those big monster fans, just not in the bedroom - have quiet $6 Target box fan there, & A/C for those humid nights.

I’ve bought 2 x these fans a month ago and they are fantastic. They also are highest rating for this type of fan on Choice if that means anything at all. Recommended!

  • TEAM KOGAN REPRESENT

  • So can someone tell me what is the difference between this and the $29
    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/fenici-40cm-pedestal-fan-wit…

    Or even the $15
