Doubt it will halt climate change.

Was $135.20, they've jacked the price to coincide with the 20% off…

    • +1

That most recent purchase is me. I'm quite positive I only paid $135!

Edit: Double checked my PayPal receipt. The item appears at full price and then -$33.80 as "Other discounts" just before the total.

20 CENTS discount… fk that myer

      • +2

        No, there's no discount

    • I had planned to buy microwave at $230 before start of sale , on start of sale price jacked to $299

      • +1

Just another example of business as usual for big business … while the ACCC keeps harrassing small fish like MSY who actually have cheap prices.

    • I did not think Myer would be that low, shame. Throw them in with TGG

      • I guess if there is any consolation I did a quick price hunt and this seems to be a good price compared to other retailers.

Is this really going to be any better than a $20 cheapo from Bunnings?

DC, AC… wouldn't make diddly difference as probably 95% of noise would be produced by the blades…

    • I've been having trouble sleeping to the point where I am ready to spend that much money and find out. I should get it before the deal expires, will update the post with my findings.

if its really effecting your sleep get a dyson they're pretty good

        • +1

I have an AM06. It's poor for the price you pay. It's not quiet, and it's not cool.

      • Bunnings has DC motor 5 blade 40 inch for $99

    • My Aldi remote controlled fan works a treat. Just buy this and spend the other $100 elsewhere :)

      • Hello GregFiona :)

I know the sale just went live today. How is the noise on the fan? I was curious about how it performs?

        • +3

if it’s the same model like the one I got 2 years ago then the noise is not a problem at all. I only use it during the hot nights. I love the remote control, it has also got 3 different breeze modes

        • @GregFiona: Awesome :) Thanks for replying will try it out. Have a goodnight.

          @jjsignupfreeman:

          not sure about aldi branding

but the price aint any special really

you can get hellar or goldair branded that also comes with remote for less than $5 more

        • @phunkydude: Pretty sure at least some of both those brands products are white label goods, just like the one from Aldi.

    • +3

It's much quieter only have wind noise. For my Media brand DC fan it also some how lot more air pressure. Compare with my another $600 Dyson fan, Dyson is not much better than rubbish

Wait haven't you heard of death by fan?
No one in Korea would consider leaving their fan on overnight - certain death.

26 wind speeds who needs that? $20 from bunnings/kmart wherever with 4 wind speeds surely fine

  • 26 speeds, surely you don't need that many.

Looks a good quality fan, it says low noise so go for it.

For anyone wanting legitimate feedback: this thing is a beast.

I'm a shift worker and I struggle to sleep in the heat but after last summer's $1000 power bill thanks to the aircon, I needed to find something else.

Anyway, it has six modes so you'll find something that suits. I prefer the comfort mode which adjusted fan speed based on room temperature. It's nice and slow when it's cool in the morning and then speeds up when the room heats up in the day sun.

The DC motor and blade design make this fan run silently.

So the big question, is it worth the large price? Answer: it depends. It's highly recommend it for shift workers and power conscious people. For those just wanting a fan to cool the room and not worried about noise and power usage just get a fan from Bunnings.

    • Also shift worker and sleep with fan. May I ask is this completely silent? I get a lot of road traffic so the "white noise" is actually helpful. Thanks.

      • +4

Anything below 15 speed, it's dead silent. Between 15 to 20 is very light noise. Anything above twenty as the IT Crowd put it will "blow your cock off". I have an industrial fan that I used to use and it can sound almost that loud on full speed.

If you're after white noise though, get a Lectrofan. Great little white noise generator which I use every day to sleep. It can drown out a garbage truck on the right setting.

          You wouldn't download a fan.
