These are amazing headsets. Well worth $89.

Mwave has these in black for $89 up until the end of the month also. (Plus shipping unless you can pick up)

Interested to know how they stack up against the popular HyperX Cloud Alphas.

I have both - Alpha from $89 JB Hifi deal recently & Siberia 650 I brought 3 years ago for $250.
I have to say the Alpha completely destroys Siberia 650 for discord, gaming & music. I can hear stuff that I normally can't like very low foot steps unlike when I use Siberia 650. If anything, I recommend anyone who uses Siberia 650 to plug it to any other soundcard besides the steelseries one it comes with. Also, Siberia 650 has really weak mic as well & pretty much unusable for me.

        • Thanks for this.
I got the Alpha and it's quite close in sound signature to my Sony MDR-1Rs, the Sony's still win out on top.. but they don't have an inbuilt mic like the Alphas.

    Thank. Got one.
I will see how they compare to Sennheiser Game One ($109).

    • Where are the Game One's $109 please?

      • They were on sale from Catch.com.au a few weeks ago.
It was posted here on Ozbargain.

        • I missed that :-( Thanks for the response.

    • G4me one has noise cancelling though.

  • The best kept secret in audio is the Koss UR40 for those wanting cheaper

    • My first set of Koss earphones came in 1985! Only a low-end set that bundled with my mini, sleek AM/FM portable radio- but, my gosh, were they brilliant— even compared to an expensive, full-sized set I had at the time.

      • Do you still use that pair? There's a reason why Koss is still around making those ancient dinosaurs headphones. They're affordable and great!

Would have thought that would be the Samson SR850 or the Superlux HD688b?

The Koss look much more comfortable and portable however, though I'm not sure the latter is particularly handy for open-back headphones.

      • The key word here is "secret". The Samson and Superlux are often recommended by the Audiophiles as budget choices. You won't hear comments about the UR40. ;)

The UR40 is a bit more than half the price of the Superlux. I'd classify them as an overear Portpro with cheap feeling pads.

      • @jasswolf @JuliusSeizure - do you know if the Vmoda boom or Modmic work with the Koss, Samson or Superlux?

        • There might be a very minor issue with sound leakage being captured on the mic at high headphone volumes, but I don't see any reason why not.

Comfort might be an issue in terms of the pads on the SR688b and maybe the SR850 though. Try them out locally before buying, if you can.

  • Also, rep can you do a deal on the Acer Predator Triton 700? (1080 variant)

  • a quick google, seems too be unreliable and has a few issues. I was about to buy it. damn!

  • The reviews are not that good.

Bought a black pair for $89 on blackfriday. They're not the most amazing sounding headset I've had. However that's because my previous sets were Beyerdynamic DT234 Pro and Audio Technica AD-900 which were $300 running through a dedicated soundcard which decided to break around the same time the AD900's broke.

So with all that said, I'm happy with them. For the price they do their job and are comfortable on my big head.

    • Why'd you downgrade to this then?

      • The others broke and I don't really want to spend $300 on a headset at the moment. I think for a budget of $100 these are great.

  • ThAnks Op! Just bought one. Don’t know good or not! Looking for a headphone for a couple months now. Very disappointed with JB’s alpha promotion, no stock! And good discount on this! Cheers!

Gotta say, 25 stock aint much. But thanks anyway OP

    • I just ordered one and showing about 6in stock

  • Op, you have any more deals?
Maybe set up a daily deals promo until Christmas?

    • We are! Check out our Facebook and Instagram for more details.

      • you could move stock hella lot quicker (with less effort and cost in marketing) if they are posted here instead, and in advance :)

  • I bought the Kingston hyperx cloud stinger for 47$ half price from jbhifi last time and they're absolutely awesome. Better than my previous Siberia pair and dedicated budget music headphones too

  • Can confirm the build quality is poor. Bought one three years ago and lasted only one from constant use of around 3-4 hours a day.

During summer and exessive heat the glue holding the leather earpiece wrapping to the device will degrade and eventually becoming loose and fall off or break. Couple that with weak joints, for $89 it might be worth for a stopgap but don't expect it to last long.
