I've got the 2 probe inkbird and it's great. Not sure what I'd ever do with 6 probes ;)

    • It is rather excessive but i'm thinking for Christmas i might try 3 roasts in the pizza oven and then use of two probes for oven temp in different spots so that gets me to 5.

tempting …..I have a smoker and a kettle, but just press the meat and decide if it's ready for wrapping.

this is what I'm really after though for those 60mm thick steaks.

    • That would be awesome but $429 introductory price for 4 probes. I think i'll put up with the wires for the time being.

I know a couple of people who got on board with the Indiegogo funding early on. Probes took 2-2.5 years to turn up. One guy is still waiting for his block after 3 years.

      I'm happy with my Inkbird.

I have this thermometer. Not a bad price it usually goes for around $75.

Great thermometer and the graph function in the app is decent for long cooks to see the temperature changes. The only gripe I have is if you have this outside in the sun it is very hard to see the screen. If you only look at the temperature on the app then it is not a problem.

I have a maverick with 2 probes and a smartfire with 4 probes and still tempted to get one of these.

    • I've got the 2 probe maverick ET733 which is the long distance version - it works up to 100m away and is rainproof. I'm thinking about the smartfire - just got sticker shock cause it's bloody expensive .. how do you find it?

I have the 4 probe inkbird, can't reccomend it enough

  • What's the range on the IBT-6X? Is it the same as the 2X?

    • 150 feet (45m)

      • yeah just googled and same for both
I've got the 2X and struggling to even get 10-15 metres with mine

        • It's bluetooth, so realistically and since the bbq is outside you'd be looking at 3-5m reliably

          • @howdydood: That's not accurate, it all depends on the class of Bluetooth.
