OzBargain Exclusive - KitchenAid Mini Stand Mixers $273 with Free Delivery @ Appliances Online (10x colours)

900
OZBMIXER20

We would like to celebrate this festive season with the OzB community by sharing an exclusive OzBargain deal.

The KitchenAid Mini Stand Mixer is a stand mixer that is 25% lighter and 20% smaller than the classic KitchenAid tilt-head stand mixers.

These KitchenAid Mini Stand Mixers have a RRP of $699 and are priced for between $300-500 at most retailers.
For a limited time, we are selling these Mini Stand Mixers at $293 for the public but OzBargainers get an additional $20 off the price by entering the OZBMIXER20 coupon code at checkout, dropping the price to $273!

The OZBMIXER20 coupon will expire on Wednesday, 03:00 AM (AEDT), 12th of December or until stocks run out.
After 3AM 12th December, the $20 coupon will no longer work but you will still be able to buy them at the $293 price, unless stocks run out.

These things are really great. Just as an FYI, if you have a friend that works at Bing Lee or whatever, Kitchen Aid are notorious for offering staff 50% off regularly. But even at that discount this seems like a good deal.

edit: their RRP is ridiculous regardless.

Is cast iron black not the same as matte black?

    • +1

Looks like we have this wrongly titled. We will get this updated to Black Matte. At first I thought Cast Iron might be the same as Black Matte but on the U.S KitchenAid site they are two separate models; black matte vs. [cast iron black]9https://www.kitchenaid.com/countertop-appliances/stand-mixers/artisan-mini-tilt-head-stand-mixers/p.artisan-mini-3.5-quart-tilt-head-stand-mixer.ksm3316xbk.html). They are different, and we had incorrectly titled the Black Matte as Cast Iron Black.

Damn. If only I hadn'r have bought that $30 sunbeam stand mixer the other month…..

I have a $40 target one that is pretty great. Only issuee I have with it, when mixing wet and dry ingredients, some dry gets untouched towards the bottom of the mixing bowl. A quick scrape fixes it.

I would still like to purchase a somewhat pricier option eventually and see what quality of life differences there are.

  • How does the relatively weak (250W) motor handle doughs and the like? I managed to get this Breville deal and made some royal icing the other day and the motor seemed to struggle once it thickened up, and that's with a 1000W motor.

    • Our product expert says the wattage of the motor isn't as important as the motor's efficiency and KitchenAid is top notch in this regard. The big KitchenAid mixers have a 300W motor and both models when reviewed by Choice were rated "excellent performance" for mixing dough (might be behind a paywall).

    • Would not buy one of these for dough - it struggles with most doughs. Wife has one and loves it for basic mixing but that's about it.

    • I do bread and pizza dough with mine. Sure it doesn't compare to a commercial mixer but I've had no issues.

    • If you’re mostly working with heavy doughs, consider a Kenwood Chef.

The nicer-looking mixers like the Kitchenaid or KMix just can’t handle yeast doughs as well. Whereas, with the Chef, if you can fit it in the bowl, it will probably mix it.

  • We've got the full size mixer - does the mini have any real limitations in comparison?

For general home baking does the mini do the trick?

    • +1

The main limitation, (again citing Choice as a 3rd party reviewer), is its ease of use. While it scored highly on performance, whisking and beating, it was not as simple or intuitive as most other stand mixers that they reviewed. The other major limitation was the size of the bowl meant that you're not going to be able to use this for large volume baking e.g. it would take a much longer time to bake larger cakes with the 3.3L bowl capacity.

  • Hey OP do you guys have Afterpay or Zip pay?

    • Sorry, not… yet.
Working on it (watch this space shortly).

      • OK cheers, might have got one at that price but it would be an unplanned purchase too close to Christmas. :)

put through an order, forgot the code and the guy just changed it via the phone super easy. 10/10 service. AMAZING!

  • Hi there,
    When is delivery expected?
It says Pre-Christmas delivery for this item is not available. This is for the Matte Grey colour

Just want to confirm if this is true?

    • Hi Matt, this is an excellent question.

It appears that we have been over-zealous with our delivery estimate message and I have asked our dev team to update the message to "Pre-Christmas delivery for this item may not be available".

      What I think happened here:
      * Australia Post informed us that guaranteed delivery pre-Christmas has a cut-off date of 7th December.
      * Anything after that may not make the Christmas date, especially if the product was not in our warehouse, so we updated our Australia Post delivery estimate message to "Pre-Christmas delivery for this item is not available"

However, all these KitchenAid mixers are in our warehouse and awaiting distribution. These mixers should be delivered to most of Australia pre-Christmas if you order within the next few days.

My recommendation here is common sense should prevail. If you live in a metro area of a state, you should receive this fairly quickly, before Christmas. However, if you reside in a more regional or rural location, expect to see it a bit later, possibly after Xmas. As an aside, this is part of the reason we are moving to delivering all our small appliances through our own fleet of vehicles - we've moved from AP to our own vans and trucks for the majority of NSW small appliance delivery and hope to do the same in other states.

      • Thanks! Just placed an order for the matte grey! Hope it goes out soon!

  • I bought this for more than $400 at Kogan about 6 months ago :(

    My heart… it grows weak.

  • Does the attachment from the full size mixer work with the mini?

    • +1

Yes, bar the ice cream maker and the heating bowl I believe.

  • Just got one for $289 at Costco, not worth returning for 16 dollars, but this is a great deal.

Cheaper on their ebay site now. Use coupon PRESENTS10 to save 10%. Bought one at $263. Great deal.

    • Aww :( I already made a purchase through their website.

I know the original deal is a great deal on its own, but leaves a bitter taste in the mouth considering the deal was posted by the rep himself…

bought one last night around 7pm to NSW metro and delivered recently. impressive delivery.

  • My order has yet to ship and I ordered on the tenth. How do I go about following up on it? Cheers

    • Hi Shadowfax, in your eBay order, there should be a transactionID that you can quote to our customer service team.

Also, please let them know you are an eBay store order and they should transfer you to our dedicated eBay support.

Alternatively, you can PM me the relevant details and I can see where it is - just note that this account is only checked once every few hours so your response might be a tad delayed.

  • I am glad I purchased the mini not the large one I thought my kitchen was bigger. It looks great on the bench we had no issues with mixing bread and cakes. It does a great job and I would definitely recommend it. The shop sent it straight away and it arrived in wa in 7 days.
