Just noticed that this deal is back on. A little more expensive than the last time it was on offer but still a very good deal for a pretty awesome lens

Fantastic lens. A must buy for the APS-C owner. Easily my favorite lens.
I've purchased from this seller a few times too and they've always been great to deal with.
Hanging out for the newly released 56mm F1.4 to complete the trio.

Yeah, it's my favourite lens too! I own a 30mm 1.4 from Sigma as well, but found ~95% of the time I was favouring the 16mm on my travels.

      I can't believe it's $439! That's an amazing price — I paid ~$650 a year or so ago.

      • Was thinking about getting the 30mm as well, because the 16mm has a fisheye look when really close. What did you think about the 16mm having fisheye at a macro distance?

Great seller. I bought a Zhiyun Crane Plus and they accidentally included a motorised follow-focus unit that was being bundled with the Crane 2. When I let them know so we could arrange a return, they apologised and told me to keep it in case I upgrade (which is kinda pointless since I'd get one with the upgrade :)

I've bought a few lenses from them during these sales and they have always been great. Shipping is very fast and the product is perfect.

  • What is this lens good for? I heard lot of great review and have been considering of getting one for my a6500. Significantly better in low light compared to others?

    • What is this lens good for?

      Bokehliciousness!

      It'd have a similar look to a 24mm f/2.1 full-frame lens.

Significantly better in low light compared to others?

If the other lenses are slower, then yes. But do keep in mind that if you're shooting at f/1.4, your depth of field will be relatively shallow. If you're taking a group photo in low light, some people may not be in focus.

    • It would be good for very wide shot (think landscapes and architecture) and as a rule the lower the f stop number (1.4) the better the light capturing ability of the lens (so better for low light) and also better DOF (probably not that important for such a wide lens though).

      F1.4 is very good !

    • It's my go to lens for landscape and indoor night photography. Rarely take it off my a6500.

  • I've got the Sigma 30mm f1.4 because I've already got the Sony 10-18mm. The 30mm is brilliant.
