Just saw that Google's slashed $50 off their VR headsets. Main difference between this generation versus the last is the heatsink added to dissipate heat better for longer sessions on the phone.

i owned one and this is basically a junk. hype on the 1st day and collecting dust the day after.
Thanks for the honest feedback.
Hi r0xz, can you elaborate? I was looking at getting this to try out.
You have to go in with very very low expectations… VR is still in its infant stage so everything is very very low res. But still the experience is quite unique.
I remember google cardboard with the free star wars content very cool but yes very limited and low res
There's very little content for it.
There's some Youtube content.
The games are mostly basic.Worst the goggles are fairly heavy after 10mins or so.
I was hoping to watch shows & movies (just normal ones) but they don't allow you to zoom in to fill your field
Yeah agreed, borrowed my mates samsung VR and was completely over it in half an hour
Till you found PornHub VR?
Username checks out
Not sure about the Daydream, but am loving my Gear VR. Simply the best mobile phone VR out there.
Watch pornhub on samsung browser is the best experience so far on the gear Vr for me 😂
I'm getting the Gear VR
I bet there were lots of happy endings… lol
Yeah haha, why do you need a heatsink? Average ozbargainer lasts 3 seconds. 4 and I'll consider it a "longer session" but that's far off.
picked up the original last year for $27 from the telstra store
Same. Gave it to my mum. She freaked out with the zombie game I put on for her. Worth every penny.
I think I got it at the same price.
Haven't opened it yet and now doesn't remember where I put it lol
If only I could buy via Google Play credit!
idk why this is soo expensive it's just a damn case
No, it has sensors and controller.
You are confusing it with google cardboard?
It has a controller, but what sensors?
Ah. Specs say "Accelerator, gyrometer, proximity", but on checking, that is just in the phone and controller.
Yep it's a holder with a $10 controller.
Please link to $10 quality bluetooth airmouse with trackpad. Would love it for my HTPC.
@bargaino: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Google-Daydream-View-VR-Headset-…
Also how do you use it on HTPC?
@onlinepred: Daydream does not work with HTPC, but these do:
https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_nkw=bluetooth+air+mouse&…
Daydream controller is much better though.
@bargaino: It's much better but super limited, that's why I said it's worth $10. Daydream is still a new thing, not much to do, it's a toy to play with for a little bit and that's it. The controller is great, but useless as you can only use it on the daydream.
@onlinepred: VERY cool toy to play with for a little bit :)
But I got the old one and paid a lot less.
And you could use a much cheaper Cardboard viewer for many of the tasks.@bargaino: Yea I got my one from telstra free with my Google Pixel 2 case that was $29. I would NEVER pay $100 for it. That's crazy talk
The Oculus Go 32GB was $239 dollars + 20% cashback via Shopback during the flash sale, unfortunately nobody posted it as a bargain :( That would have been a proper VR experience for less than $200 AUD.
Whoa I would have grabbed that.
I use the Gear VR all the time, i heard from a friend its also good for porn…
Pretty sure I got this exact same version (not the $27 gen1) cheaper from Telstra store back in April.. used it twice and it's now somewhere in the house collecting dust.
Not worth $50
