In cashrewards link allegedly. BUT…How long is the promo running for (10 Dec?) Lets face it, we all have Kogan sims banked!

        • +1

Right in the OP where it says:

SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

cashrewards for the Telstra Pre-paid would be good

  • Ordered 1 and I noticed something interesting. According to my paypal transaction, the money goes to Telstra. Not sure since when Boost became the subsidiary of Telstra.

    • Telstra bought out Boost from Optus years ago

    • +2

Optus sold boost prepaid to telstra in 2012.

  • still got kogan sim so cant activate in 30 days

    • +1

You can, but just have to pull the pin before 30 days or activate as a newbie and double up… sacrilegious!

      • TA is the cash rewards man if I'm not mistaken?

        • +3

Don't think Tightarse is a man, probably a porn bot.

  • Does anyone know how long I need to be with Boost after activation for cashback?

    • I believe 90-odd days after activation. Feel free to correct if incorrect.

    • There is no minimum term, you may cancel at any time and still be eligible for cashback.

      • Thanks, mate. This is better than I expect. However, I couldn't find this information on CR T&C. Could you please provide the link on this information?

Hi TA, can you confirm that there is no minimum "stay on" period with Boost to qualify for the cashback after activation?

    • Thanks for your comments guys. I must have tapped thumb down accidentally for this post :(

          Thank you TA!

        • Hi Rep, how much data when if not recharge? Is 35G when activate the SIM card?

  • I can't see the $35 on the cr, boost page as an offer

  • Does anyone know what ID you need to use when activating the SIM?

    • One valid form of ID:

      • Australian driver’s licence or learner's permit
      • Medicare card
      • Australian passport
      • International passport with a valid Australian visa
      • +2

        Ozbargain user ID also acceptable.

  • "Yes I have less than 5 Prepaid mobile services (including this service) & this service is for private use."

Is there a way around this? I'm sure it's a government security thing - but I'm sure all of OzBargain has like 10 prepaid services that have just expired/no longer active after a month. Does it impact activation?

    • I think Kogan ignore it/won't dob you in if you lie on that question.

Personally, I cancel the number when the month ends. I either say "network's shit" or "bought it for overseas people and they gone" and they cancel.

      • Is this recommended for cashback offers?

Has anyone got cashback after 90 days when they have cancelled or ported out after the first 30 days?

For me, I've kept the number there until cashback has arrived to be safe, so they believe I am doing the offer on good faith. I mean, yeah; if you port in and out within days after burning through the data; is that actually acceptable or not?

        o_O

        • As long as you meet all the conditions in the T&Cs, there is no reason for you to have to stay with the provider until the CR is confirmed

    • +1

Port in your old number. Using the same number means you only have one active prepaid service.

      • +1

I like the fresh number for Guzman Y Gomez free burritos

  • If only there was a way to get cashback on recharges… :)

  • Thanks! That's great!

  • Good find OP.

  • How Can I cancel after 28 days ?

    • One method is to port the number out.

  • So do you get 12gb or 35gb?

    • 12GB from what I can make out; bal upon first recharge;

      Bought one.

  • How old is this offer? It looks like the standard offer. I think I got $20 back already from last time.

    (Just before I bite)

    • +1

$12 cashback is standard on the $30 SIM.

But the $30 SIM is normally $30. It has been on special a couple of times recently for $15, but has only just dropped to $10.

I believe the offer to which you’re referring was for the $40 SIM ($20 with $20 cashback).

      • I don't get it, so this is the old deal right?

I'm looking at your OVO post and it looks like it was the same deal, i.e. get $5 back on 10GB OVO plan except that the coupon used to reduce the price down to $0.99 was CYBER instead of 10FOR1

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/416273

How did you come to the conclusion that it was a new offer with respect to the OVO offer?

From the affiliate partner's perspective, it would be the same offer. o_O So, does the same apply here for Boost?

  • To be a new customer, does it mean a new email address?

  • Thank you Op

  • +2

Anyone knows if I'm still eligible if I bought the same deal/cash rewards last month?

  • Seemingly a great deal…. Then you read about mandatory date to activate…

No good. Pretty average really… Shouldn't matter if I activate now or in 3 months. As long as it's within the year while the company is still around, then this bdhouldnt be a problem, much less a term of sale.

    • I mean, it's $2 free. So, even if you didn't use the card 20% per quarter is not a bad interest rate. Though your time is probably worth more… hmmm. Personally I'm just going to burn through the data from this and the other SIMs in the next month because my internet is shit.

      • Heh. Yeah with $2 profit its hard to go wrong right? Problem is their turn around time to process these claims is rather deplorable. My bet is it takes about 4 months to see the $2 profit anyway :)

Thanks to other deals I already have a catch sim and soon an ovo sim, both at. A profit after months of long waits to see the credit difference…but free data to burn in the meantime!

        • The value in these deals is that you can actually cash out your existing balance from cash rewards, rather than building up the minimum $10 balance by normal means.

  • Damn, was planning to get one today.

    • Same here. Super annoyed/ disappointed. (Esp after missing out on the OVO deal a few days ago & I actually plan on using the SIM rather than just buying it for profit.)

  • +1

Please note that from 9AM AEDT NOV 29, Cashback will not be available on the $30 Prepaid SIM until further notice.

    • Very disappointing.

      • Yea I want a Telstra one

  • Already received my sim today!

  • Vote revoked! :[

  • Hi,

I just purchased the $30 sim which is on sale for $10… Went back to my cash rewards account and noticed that $14 has been added back into the account. Surely that's a mistake, right?

    • did it get reversed/ rejected/ cancelled?

      • Nope, it's still there.

        • Lucky you - very tempting but I don't think I'll risk it myself

  • Is auto recharge activated automatically?
If so, how do you turn it off?
