  • could someone clarify the use of these for me please?

don't 8bitdo controllers work on all those platforms anyway?

    • +2

These allow other controllers to be used on your switch and also allows yours pro controller to be used on other consoles. I have the kayflash adapater and lets me use my switch pro on PC. They provide more controller options.

      • cool, thanks.

do you know if I can use two Switch Pro controllers through one dongle?

        • +2

          No.

          • @rekkore: same would apply when using controllers on the switch then? One per dongle?

    • +2

I use mine for connecting my old Wii U Pro controller to my Switch.

      • Have to try that when it gets here thanks.

  • So with this I could use my joycon to play games on my pc (eg steam)?

    • If your PC has bluetooth you should be able to use them on your PC without the dongle.

  • Can these connect Bluetooth headphone/speaker?

    • It's for controllers only.

  • I wonder how much input lag there is when using it, say, for using a wii u pro controller with a switch. For fighting games this would be an issue, but I guess for 7 bucks it can't hurt to try?

    • Can’t feel the difference between joycon and this.

I timed this once with my DS4 (via dongle) and Switch Pro (wireless) using a 960fps camera. They're the same.

  • This is perfect for me thank you, just bought a xbox one controller and was about to bite the bullet and pay $30 for a legit receiver!

  • Just bought one off ebay for $20… X(

  • Nice. Just what i needed and 4$ cheaper than no name brand from ebay

  • Can I use 4 PS4 controllers for smash? Or just the two one in each usb

    • At best, one per dongle. I don't know if you can even have 2 dongles at once (didn't work for me).

  • I don't get it, if my PC already has Bluetooth, why do I need this? I mean I already use by 8bitdo controllers via BT for PC and NVIDIA Shield, MiBox etc.

    • One use would be if you have a Nintendo Switch. You plug it into the Switch and can pair a Dualshock 4 (for example) for use on the console. That's where they find their most value.

      • I guess that scenario saves you buying a pro controller? I assume a dualshock 4 is still a better than a switch pro controller?

        • Cheaper alternative than cashing $80. Normally people that buy the adapted already have controllers laying around.

        • +1

          switch pro > dualshock 4

  • What about to connect Xbox controllers to PS4?
    Thanks in advance.

Don't forget to download the latest firmware for this receiver here:
    http://support.8bitdo.com

    • Thanks mate, that would have stumped me for at least 30 minutes.

    • Cool latest firmware appears to support xbox controllers.
Will use my xbox controllers on switch when friends are over

  • Nice. 12.6% cash back for new users through cash rewards too. Ordered.

Oh wait, CR is voided by coupon code. doh.

  • Any chance one could use this to link a PS3 or PS4 controller on a Xiaomi TV box?

    • +1

You can link a PS4 controller to xiaomi tv box via Bluetooth already. Mine just works, try finding it in your Bluetooth devices and simply pair it.

      • Cool 😎 any luck with the PS3 controllers?

        • Don't have one to try. You could Google it.

  • I have one of these. Works great. I use it in my Nintendo Switch so I can use one of my Playstation 4 Controllers. Ordering more as stocking fillers. Fingers crossed it arrives in time.

  • Interesting product but why only one controller per dongle. That's a silly limitation.

    • When plugged into your console/PC the USB thinks as a wired USB controller.

      • On the Nintendo Switch. It comes up as 1 wired controller.

  • Anyone received theirs yet?

    • Nothing yet, mine tracking showing arrived Australia on 8th DEC then no more updates

      • Yep, just logged into my account and it's showing the same. Wonder what the hold up is?

        • Mine isn't even in Australia yet. This is my shipping info:

I wonder what the transit country is. Singapore?

          • @AaronR: I have the exact same tracking data. So either the tracking data is false. Or they are sending a bunch of them in one parcel for an agent in Australia to repost?

BTW. The last 3 numbers of my tracking number are 886.

    • I got mine on Monday. Sent out on the 2nd, reached VIC on the 12th and NSW on the 15th.

Tested PS4 and X1 controllers and working perfectly so far. Had firmware 1.17 on it but updated to 1.18.

    • Nope. No tracking after the following.

    • Just received mine today, have no idea how to make it work on PC with a PS4 controller :/

  • Received mine on Monday. The packaging is different from my previous one. But it works. I'm using it on my Nintendo Switch with a PS4 controller.

    • Did you try it with your PC? I can't get mine to work :(

      • Never tried it on the PC…

        • It's ok, I got it to pair properly and work with steam by turning it off and on a bunch of times lol.
