Picked up the 128gb myself and had no problem with the Office Works price beat, this is the lowest price I'm aware of. A couple of people have had troubles with the price beat but I had no problems.

For any anti Apple people who are deeply offended at the price of their phones, just keep scrolling past this and save your rage for something that matters more than the phone people choose to buy :D

    Jb hi-fi Osborne Park Western Australia price matched all the way to the 5% discount once I showed them this and suggested I'd just go to my local office works if they wouldn't match it!

    I like this deal, dont get me wrong. I have a CommBank offer for a $250CR if I spend $500 on a new CC offer, so thats a bonus!

    But the iPhone XS/XS Max & XR are all heading for a price drop if Japan is anything to go by, that will mean lower and better offers if you can withstand the temptation of this offer.

    Just saying. It might be after XMAS as knowing apple they want to screw out every last cent of the silly seasons gift giving, but its going to happen!

    I got my iPhone 8 for $800 new by waiting for an ebay 20% off sale and a good price last year and thats what the XR is worth now, so Im guessing it too will be dropping and its not like its good value as my Nokia 6.1 GoogleOne phone with much the same specs cost me the princely sum of $300! Just saying how bad the iPhones current pricing is guys!

    So just rang officeworks to do a pricebeat and they refused stating that they have investigated it further with idealgadget selling refurbished phones.

      Someone mentioned this in a different thread and they argued that it's impossible to have refurbished XR or XS as they are just released and they allowed the price beat.

        Yeh I did see that and tried to argue it but she flat out said no head office have told us not to price beat idealgadget, tobydealsau etc.

            @tranter: Just did that, no luck unfortunately :( they mentioned an excuse after placing the order iDeal gadget then ask for more money. I assume there pricebeat team has gone through the purchase to find this out.

              @KingJuf: That sucks. I am suspicious though with idealgadget's pricing for a newly released iphone.

              I guess nobody has actually ordered a phone to find out if it's legit, only price-matches at Officeworks.

    Just went into ow Carlton and refused price beat saying not like for like as don’t provide apple warranty.

    Don't bother with the official line. They were not budging at all and were making up excuses about iDealGadget's return policy and saying that the company didn't comply with ACL and was dodgy and that I shouldn't buy from them.

    Pretty poor form for Officeworks to say that about someone's business to get out of doing a price match. Would be pretty pissed if I was the owner of the store and it was legit.

    I took the time to read the entire comments; it seems no one bought it from idealgadget.com.au.

    Is it common knowledge that the shop is dodgy? If so, why no downvotes? If not, why going through the trouble of OW price match when you can just hit "buy" on idealgadget.com.au?

      Office works do a price beat of 5% so it’s cheaper through them and you can just walk in and get it rather than waiting for it to arrive and returns is easier in case if anything.

        I did it at Newcastle. I suppose its hit and miss depending on who you talk to and if the message got to them. The less popular stores would probably still be doing it.
