  • Glad it didn't go up in % lol

I swear on my life I was just on there and it was 12.50% - so I just bought the xbox one X.
Still happy with 10%, but definitely certain it was 12.5% 5 mins ago!!

    • +7

Was 12.5% up until 12pm today

    • Yep, finished at 12 AEDT. 10% with no capping is still a good offer.

  • +6

Shopback is still at 12% for Amazon

    • +2

      Yep, with a $50 cap.

  • +2

    12.5% expired midday i believe

  • +3

I always forget the queensland is an hour behind … I was taking my sweet time to sort what I wanted to buy, missed my sweet 2.5%

    • +5

You were probably out milking the cows and re-dying the curtains to late.

    • +5

TA's post very clearly stated that the 12.5% will expire at 12. Not sure what else you are expecting??

      • Should have done the 10% first then 12%

        • +1

Hmm. From memory, Shopback did 20% then 12%.

        • +1

No they shouldn’t have, at all. Then people would be annoyed about not waiting for longer to buy things. Terrible suggestion. You snooze you lose.

  • +3

    Shopback better for small purchases.

  • darn no daylight savings in QLD!! missed out on the extra 2.5% by 1 minute :(

    • Its ok you dont have to suffer through daylight saving, worth more than 2.5%.

  • +5

If my math is correct, you'd need $458.33 (50/0.12)x1.1 to max out the ShopBack 12% but you'd need to spend over $550 (50/0.1)x1.1 to get over $50 from CashRewards.

Check your bank account Amazon have overcharged me over $150 on random transactions today in addition to my purchases.

    • Just checked, all good on my end.

    • Sounds like your CC (details) has been stolen

      • The transactions all appear at or around the same time I made purchases on Amazon but are in excess of what I ordered. I was using the CR app so hopefully there is no issue there.

        • MMm From memory don't you have to use a pc/laptop browser to claim Cashrewards with amazon and not the app or did that change when the app got released ?

          • @Danstar: Can shop at Amazon through the CR app as long as it doesn’t take you to the Amazon app.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: hahaha I went to all the trouble of bypassing my works wifi which uses an overseas VPN, and hot-spotted my phone and disabled all the security in the browser so CR can track my purchase hahaha

              • @Danstar: That might have been the better idea, there doesn’t appear to have been any issues with my order on my laptop this morning at 5am.

              • +1

                @Danstar: A for effort

    • Thanks for the heads up, I made multiple purchases and it does appear that one is about $15 too much

      • +2

Amazon reckon they charge an authorisation but then charge the amount when it ships. This results in multiple pending transactions for the same charge, apparently. So technically if I purchase something for $500 they could hold $500, then ship it and charge me another $500 so there would be $1000 unavailable on my account.

Can’t remember this ever happening before without authorisation for both transactions, can’t understand how it could be a normal thing for retailers.

  • Bugger did not know midday that sux

  • I've ordered 2 items in the one transaction. If I cancel/return one of them, I assume the cash back will still go through? Just calculated from the new, low order total?

    • You may not be eligible for Cashback:

If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.
If a coupon code is used that is not listed on CASHREWARDS.
If your order is not fully completed online or is later changed.

      • Don't know how I missed that….

        Cheers

    • I have generally had each individual item track separately with my cash backs, so there "might" be a chance you still get cashback for one of the items.

      Never tried before though

      • I got emails from cashrewards. Both items have been tracked separately.

If only there was a concrete answer…

Ensure your Amazon cart is empty before clicking from Cashrewards. Items added to cart before clicking from Cashrewards will not earn Cashback.

If I delete item from cart after Cashrewards click and then re-add it, would it be eligible for cashback?

  • Ugh I think I activated cash back after I added things to my cart because I forgot. Didn't realise you had to do it before. Is there anyway of getting back cash back for these items? (I purchased a switch + Zelda + pro controller).

    • If they haven't shipped out yet and are still in stock, just cancel the previous order and reorder.

IIRC Amazon doesn't charge you until it ships anyway.

  • since when is this required and what's the point of it? Is this a technological restriction?

    • CRITICAL: Ensure your Amazon cart is empty before clicking from Cashrewards. Items added to cart before clicking from Cashrewards will not earn Cashback.

    • yeah I only noticed after I purchased during 12.5% and bought two games, the dearer one of course was in my cart prior to activating cashrewards..

    • Yeh. I don't see that note on the cash rewards site. Which is crap. I shouldn't have to come to ozbargain to see how to use cashrewards for specific sites. As other sites don't have that requirement.

Just bought an oculus too. Was already in my cart. Ffs

  • I’ve gotten emails for 2/4 items I bought today. The other two that haven’t come through are both 100% claimed.

I am in love 😍 with CASHREWARDS the best Aussie site apart from ozbargain, it should be a law for all citizens to sign up or get fined !

  • Safe to assume items in shopping/wish list be eligible for the cashback?

    • Only if you add it AFTER following through the link.
CRITICAL: Ensure your Amazon cart is empty before clicking from Cashrewards. Items added to cart before clicking from Cashrewards will not earn Cashback.

      • Cheers

      • I'm out about $50 then.

  • Bought a DSLR camera but no tracking confirmation email yet. Hope to get 10% back

    • I’m in the same boat as you.

  • Looks like it's still available.

  • Is there any benefit to me (or site rule against) asking for a referral from somebody?

  • If i was already in the middle of making a purchase, but it went through maybe 30 seconds after the end of the cashback deadline, does it still count?
