Can this be used for body hair?
I would't recommend it for body hair.
The blade is too small for large areas and moves too much as it's designed for facial contours. The clips will break easy if you use it too rough.

i bought base model and i regret it - pro has much better height adjustment. if you are going to use it for anything other than the base blade (clean shave), like for 5o'clock shadow or a longer stubble trim, go pro.
I'm going only for base shave around my neck below my beard and got the $39 one with free shipping with the prime trial.
For this price difference, I'd go pro. But depending on your power use and regularity of use, if your doing a clean shave a 2 or 3 times a week the base model will suffice.
