I think that’s the overheating one.

      • Oh really? Thanks for letting me know. I'll do some more research as I was going to buy this one.

  • I bought one to use in the office with my Mate 20 Pro while at work. It's slow, but it's fine. I haven't had any issues. Can someone explain the negatives of not being Qi Certified?
    Am I killing my battery?
Or is it just a case of "if it doesn't catch fire, it's okay."

Qi widgets are branded under license similar to MFI. Asian manufacturers reverse engineer the technology and sell similar widgets for half the price.

I don't think it's as simple as that.
If it is Qi certified then the manufacturer has paid the license fees and you can be confident that it meets all the specifications. If it isn't Qi certified then it may or it may not be up to spec. If it's a quality/trusted brand then it should be okay. If it's a no name brand it may still be fine.
But 2016 told us even major brands can make things that catch fire.
