This is either so dumb its funny, or an attempt at trolling and I can't work out what one it is…
It's wired from the power unit to the device, then wireless from the device to the phone.

No stock in most Brisbane stores and I'm not driving all the way to Beenleigh for this :(.

Had this, it runs unreasonably very hot. Do not recommend. Makes phone very hot as well which cant be good for battery life

    • Yeah same. It was my first wireless charger so thought it was normal. Got a different brand, same wattage etc and it is way cooler. Legit could not hold your finger on this one it was so hot.

Curious if there were any other factors (non MagSafe phone interfering with magnets, magnet case etc)? I have ordered 2 of these from a local BigW, will see how they go.

    • Wireless chargers usually make the phone hot, hence most car wireless chargers have temperature control. Sometimes it could be the issue of the battery not just the charger itself.

      • this one is particularly hot - much hotter than other wireless chargers i have around the house

        • Thanks for the info, according to user reviews in jb, Belkin seems to be way better than this or the Samsung wireless chargers.

          • @boomramada: I have Belkin wia004 15W charger and it gets too hot for my comfort. Worst wireless charger, in that regard, that I have owned.

It’s somewhat counterintuitive but they will get hot if underpowered. For 15w you need 22w at 9v. Otherwise maybe it’s just a piece of junk.

      • "15W @ 5V wireless chargers get hot if you dont provide them with 22W @ 9v"
Is that what you are saying ?

    • Is there a MagSafe charger under $30 that you can recommend?

  • +1

    15W for people wondering.

  • +5

Went through 3 of these within 3 weeks all under warranty. Would not recommend

    • What happened? Did they just stop working?

      • +1

Yeah they all got really hot, and just stopped.

        • 15W wireless charging without a fan is not good for a phone.

    • Is there a MagSafe charger under $30 that you can recommend?

Isnt it better to get something like this with $5 more? https://amzn.asia/d/gXvaFB8

    • That doesn't have MagSafe. I find the magnets to be very useful, but some may prefer to not have them.

    $9 delivered at TGG eBay.

    • That's even crappier one 7.5W

      • I did some research, and they’re the same thing. I also have one from TGG.

        • yep, you are correct!

  • so this cable comes with a magnet and then the magnet is attached to a wireless charger?

    • iPhone 12 and later have a ring magnet inside them. This charger has a matching magnet that ensures alignment. If your phone does not have a magnet but does support Qi wireless charging, you can just place it on top and it will still charge.

      • I thought it was just a charging cable not an actual wireless charger

        • I have this charger. The wireless charger is magnetic and has an inbuilt USB-C cable come out of it (2m).
Inside the box there is an extra accessory metal ring that you can peel off and GLUE onto the back of your phone if it doesn't have magsafe (or equivalent) feature.
This metal ring has a minor issue with other wireless chargers which I don't think is worth explaining

The soft material on the metal ring started peeling off after 3months of my phone going in and out of my pants pocket. I just glued it back with super glue and now it's all good.
          It's $10 and I didn't expect quality when I bought it.

  • Always had problems with Cygnett wireless chargers…

  • 15w is bad

    • So slow. My OnePlus 13 charges at 50w wireless & 100w wired. I couldn't go back.

      • Slow charging is better for phone battery if you keep you phone sitting on the charger all day anyway.

        • Or good for overnight charging

*Bad if you want your phone charged super fast.

Personally i almost never need that. I have one of these next to the bed, as long as its charged by morning why would i need any faster?
