And the cable into the headphones is removable in the alphas. Any stress on the cable on the cloud 2s can render them useless.
the alpha would be a good choice for ps4?
I have Xbox One X. Alphas work out of the box no problems whatsoever, should be same with PS4.
They are marketed as being for all three platforms and I can confirm that they work as stated. They work but the volume can be a bit too quiet for me. Probably fine for most people once you put the volume up in the quick menu.
They just don't work for Rhythm games where I want it to be just a bit louder.
Does the alpha have 7.1 surround sound?
nope but you can buy surround sound cards for it and tbh you dont really need it . the new technology hyper x added to the alphas is insane without surround sound and it has better sound then the cloud ii's and it has dual chamber technology im picking up one myself :)
Would you recommend the Aplha over these for PC gaming? Particularly on FPS where directional sound is important?
@Shaunzki: i dont know all i know is the alphas are better in all reviews and its the direct upgrade over the cloud 2s using new technology named dual chamber
@Shaunzki: The alphas would be better than the ii’s cause you’ll be able to emulate surround on PC and apparently they sound better. If you’re on console the ii’s would be better due to the amp it comes with
depends if people want a headset with a sound card and usb or are happy to just have 3.5mm jack and get a usb adapter off ebay if needed …..for me i’m going the alphas as i can live with 3.5mm jack and like the idea of replaceable lead.
Is there a difference in the sound quality without the USB? Basically, would this be better for directional audio or would the JBHIFI headset be the better buy?
seeing as how fast these things a selling out for at the $90 price range (like the kogan deal) im not sure if im going to be able to get my hands on the alpha with the jb deal.
just a heads up the alphas will be $84 at jbhifi in the coming days and that is the direct upgrade with better sound quality so if you can wait i recommend those.
