latency to sea and us is still perfectly playable too. just not the best for cast animal cancelling/last hitting.

lol 240 ping is not playable its a joke there are so few servers for australia.
Even then a ping of 90 is shit compared to dota where you could get a ping of 30 and that wasn't even using servers

DotA shits all over this. The skill levels of these players are mediocre (at best) compared to the most Warcraft DotA players.
In saying that, this is a good deal for those interested in this game. Might be the first time it's on special since the initial pre-order price.
i get sick of playing with dota players on bored aussie. too many highschoolers (no offense), some of them are just way immature. hon might be better in that regard.
no - HoN is probably the worst community gaming base around at the moment - still a fun game, definitely can't go back to dota after playing this - though Valves dota2 will probably suck me in :P
Yeah definitely HoN has probably the worst community, mainly because international players tend to think their skill level is always above yours and you can't understand what they're saying sometimes.
Overall It's a good game as long as you have your mates on your team and also the customizable interface is a definite thumbs up in my books but anyway if you need a team mate add me up "BuddhaKevin"Haha bored aussie. Takes me to the old times. I was an admin there once :)
I moved from DOTA where i was considered very good, when i went to hon i got my ass kicked. Hon is definately better then DOTA imo. i would describe HON as everything you liked about DOTA without its drawbacks.
The community shouldnt be described as the 'worst' community, the players are very competitive and will rage at you if you do not play your part correctly (known as supporting or carrying). And this is another reason why HON is better , work as a team and your chances of winning are higher. Regardless of HON Vs DOTA, both are still better then LOL (league of legends). Its $10 dollars give it a try!!! and good luck :D

HoN is awesome. Even at $30 it's a bargain. It's quite hard to get good, and I'm still struggling to improve my PSR but I would recommend it for anyone. It's a lot better than a lot of online games because the games last for 30 minutes to an hour and then it's easy to walk away, so online game addictions.

the coin system is purely for visual pleasure. You can not buy any more functionality/heroes using coins. It is all skins, sound packs, icons etc. Also you earn coins from playing games ~6-10 coins for a win and ~2-5 coins for a loss
