    • Order twice ?

  • I wouldn't use the sponge on paint, but for unpainted plastic on 4wds or wheels could be good.

The world seems to be split into three

      • those that adhere to a four bucket egyptian silk and lambswool car wash regime

      • those that go to the local servo brush wash

      • don’t bother to wash the car at all

      • I'm somewhere between the first 2 - won't use a servo machine wash, but i only 2 bucket it and microfibre wash mit.

    • What's wrong with a sponge on paint?

      • depends on the car - if itsan old car with crappy paint you can use whatever and its fine. sponges, brushes etc can cause micro scratches in the paint and are good at pushing contaminants into the paint, dulling it and scratching it as you move them around. microfibre wash mit is the go and a microfibre towel for drying instead of a chamois.

        • Anyone know where the cheapest place to get some microfibre wash mits and drying towels from?

@revo: Have a look at kmart
They have them there for quite a reasonable price

            • +1

@profeeder55: They have a detailing towel, day ng towel and wash mit, all microfibre and feel very soft, $4 each. I love them. Just remember to wash them in the washing machine before and after use to remove any debris and lint.

              • @Wilburre: Cheers, good tip!

                • @revo: Nw I find the drying toweo doesn't quite dry my 2017 lancet sedan entirely (but I'm not leaf blower and or squeegieing the water off first either). 2 would do it nicely.

            • @profeeder55: Thanks! I'll check it out

  • still hasnt use the last batch i bought last time.

What are some commons uses for this degreaser around the home? I have a can thinking i'd find a use for it, but its just sat there for 6 months. What do OzBargainers use it for? ?

    • +3

I use it in the kitchen, stainless steel range hood and stove.

Also for mower, trimmer and blower.

Can also be used on oil stained clothes prior to washing to break up any grease stains.

      • Did u use this particular degreaser to remove oil/grease stains from clothing before washing or another brand?
Have u tried using WD40? Im wondering which one better to remove oil stains

    • +2

Works great on oil stained concrete too, if you spill some accidentally.

    • If you hit lots of bugs whole driving at night, this will remove them as they are hard to wash.

However, to my experience this did not do even half the job for me. I tried it on car windscreen, but it was just not good enough.

      • @No ONE, so it will work or it won't ? haha

        • Not good enough.

  • thanks OP, will grab one tomorrow (sponge and bucket). Not bad to give my bike a quick wash

  • Would the degreaser be suitable to use on an old bicycle chain? Thanks.
