I bought a 970 evo ssd, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey is free gift.
downloaded played 10 minutes, boring game .

I haven't played the game so idk if it's good but normally if you give up after 10 minutes it means you never had interest in liking and playing it in the first place.

    • +1

Well you should have sold it for $30-40 beforehand

Maybe we need some deals on ADHD meds?

  • Lego DC Villains from the US looks like a goer.

  • Also the US/AU pricing is so inconsistent.

AC Odyssey GE is US$65 which is $AU89 and the AU price is $94 (so technically slightly cheaper inc GST).

DC Lego is US$30 which is $AU41 and the AU price is $76.

    • You factoring in they'd pay tax on top?

      • Not if your address is in a sales tax free state ;)

Even still, 10% or so sales tax isn't going to make a huge difference to that lego game is it??

        • We shouldn't complain about games prices in general… physical especially…. we'd be buying new releases for $62 Aus these days, they pay closer to $70 US factoring in taxes….

Most Americans would be paying tax ontop of these prices though.

You can blame the distributor for that Lego game though….

  • If it isn't too much of a bother for someone, can you please point me in the right direction for how to purchase through the US store? Thank you in advance!

You don't need a separate account, just a US profile on your current account. The address I used was a pizza place in Delaware (no sales tax in Delaware).

Then you set up a US Paypal account. Connect it to your AU credit card (I have it connected to my CBA CC) and you're good to go.

I used to just buy US credit on Amazon but MS started geoblocking so the US Paypal account is the easiest now IMO.

Once you buy via the US profile you can download it without the need for a VPN or anything silly and just play it like normal.

      • Thank you very much! I'll give this a shot later today. I really appreciate your time and help

you can do this to any region that supports paypal to purchase games from etc Singapore, HK etc and even Mexico!

Also if it helps, you can buy digital Xbox gift cards from Amazon US, sometimes with a discount and use those as payment instead of PayPal.
