Cashrewards Launches its Mobile App - Receive $2 Free (Download, Login, Click - No Purchase Required)

We're pleased today to announce the official release of the Cashrewards Mobile App for iOS & Android. It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here. The dev team has spent months on its development, integration and testing and we couldn't think of a better place to launch it than right here on OzBargain. All we ask in return is some honest feedback via the comments in this post. Good, bad, indifferent - we want to know. It will help make it an even better product. There will be lots of new features added in future releases including in-store offers, geo-targeting, and app-to-app tracking. Facebook login is currently unavailable but will be included in an upcoming release in December. Offer ends 11:59PM AEDT Nov 16. Thanks for the ongoing support. Enjoy :)

To receive the $2 bonus, you must:

(1) Download the Cashrewards App via the main link in this post.
(2) Log in with your Cashrewards credentials (Facebook login disabled).
(3) Click 'Shop Now' from any store (your acct will be credited within 7 days of the click).

The $2 bonus will appear in your Cashrewards account as approved within 7 days of clicking 'Shop Now' from any store in the App. The $2 bonus is not stackable with any other promos, including TV ads, refer-a-friend, etc (can't be use to tip over the $10 limit for withdrawal).     After clicking shop now is there meant to be a tracking in the history? Since I don’t seem to notice any changes if that is all I will wait for the 7 days to see if any correspondence happens.

    What I would have suggested in this promotion would be if cash rewards had a automated $2 donation ( yes I do know there is an option manually) after downloading the app the money would have be used for a better cause at least on 3 ends of the party including Ozbaragin I am sure this community would be greatfull and be happier for this.

    • Hi DEvok. Great suggestion re the donation, thank you. As for the click, definitely needs to be a click under 'My Click History' after you've clicked 'Shop Now'. The store name along with the date and time is registered there.

  • Not working for me. Apple SE, ios12. Clicked Aveda link from home page -> takes me to Aveda’s deal page (so far so good). Click on any of the Aveda deals under Offers and Coupons and it takes me to the Adair’s page (Wtf) -> click on Shop Now and get 404 error “Sorry, unfortunately this page is no longer available.
    However, we do have thousands of other stores to choose from.”

    Same clicking from Sunglasses Hut, Lowes etc.

    EDIT: sorry it’s not the Adairs page, it’s the CR home page so looks like the issue a few other ppl are having too

    On Android 7.0 had issues after first login where after the intro it just seemed to hang and wouldn't progress, force close and reopen and was able to navigate. Was very slow, shop now didn't work on the first link I tried, went back and opened converse page, clicked shop now, after about 30seconds it eventually loaded.

    For the login I recommend integrating with Google SmartLock on Android.

    I would much prefer CashRewards.

      This is a marketing decision as all CR branding is moving to caps for the name.

        Ahh Marketing. Well someone should tell them it only shows CASHREW… so to be consistent it they should change the name to that. My brain auto completes it to Cash Rewind for some reason.

      • Understanding that it's a marketing decision if that the way CR is moving, however on the phone as an app name it looks silly. I've got quite a few apps where the company name is all caps in marketing etc - however the app name is still in normal casing.

      • I've removed the app until you guys get some sort of logic and fix the case of the word. Brand or no brand, it doesn't look good amongst other apps on my device.

        • Yeah… I think TA was asking for some feedback, not a mutiny.

        • You'll find that to be the case with nearly all apps with more than one capital letter so CashRewards would do the same depending on the screen size and app launcher.

    Nice looking app. Performed all the dot points, would be nice to receive confirmation that I will receive the $2 in a weeks time, but whatever all good.

      Probably would be less than a 50% conversion rate but yes it would be a large amount of several thousand dollars given away.

      Cashrewards is a nice business of tightarse and great to see with the amount of value TA gives to the ozbargain community. Thanks TA.

    Any fixes for shops not loading (instead ends up on CR main page) on iOS devices yet? Several people have commented about it…?

      All I can say is that the developers are reading all the comments. I’m sure all issues will be sorted once they find the root causes. Thanks for the input.

    Hi OP - whenever I click the shop now button it just takes me to a general page within the app with multiple offers not the specific option I want to purchase.

    This is on an Android phone running 8.1.0

    E.g clicked shop now on Groupon but taken back to featured offers page

  • Feedback: Using a Huawei P20 Pro. The navigation bar at the bottom of the screen in the app overlays the underlying website and stops me accessing cart / checking out on pages. I couldn't even see how to make a purchase in boozebud through the app - it was completely hidden. Also difficult with ebay just now. There is a hint of the final blue checkout button above the navigation bar.

    I am guessing it is not displaying properly and should frame the underlying shop in the browser but it appeats to be overlaying instead and therefore covering part of the website.

    (Caveat: far too many comments to read in case someone has already reported this issue/bug) Also I have only had this phone for less than a week.

    Some feedback- When I clicked on a store to get cashback, instead it takes me back to the homepage of cashrewards and we start again. Just my 2c. Maybe someone mentioned already.

        Android 8.0.0 on Samsung Galaxy S7 and appears to work fine. When I went "shop now" selected Surfstitch, which shows in "Click History."

  • Feedback. On the profile tab cashed out $17 as a test from the app. When you close the pop up the page doesn’t refresh with the new current balance value, did on the app restart
    Also knoticed the $17 payment doesn’t show up under “your recent purchases rewards and payments” checked for the last cash out and it’s also not on the list.

    Moto z2 Play
    - Just after logging in, the keyboard stays on the screen unnecessarily and it pushes up the intro screen.
    - Nav buttons on the bottom: not clear they are options, thought they were greyed out and disabled. Would be better to have all logos purple and then just make the active tab inverted. (purple background with white logo)
    - Can't find past payments, even though it says payments should be included in 'My Rewards" section.

      I just keep accumulating funds rather than withdrawing, but figured I would use Bank details which years ago was the only option anyway.

  • I’m not sure if someone has already highlighted this. Cash rewards app should have sort by option under rewards history. That way if I want to see which transactions will be available in my available rewards sooner.

    If it hasn’t already been mentioned, I hope CR make this app tablet/iPad compatible as I do most transactions via my iPad (in landscape mode) and I’m simply not going to use a sideways display made for smartphone only.

  • Trying again this morning running a lot faster however I don't like browsing the partners website through the app. An option to open in browser would be far better. Don't see me using this app in the future as managing website credentials is impossible through the app.

  • More feedback: the headings aren’t needed on every page. Example on the profile page it says “welcome back” - totally unnecessary text. Also on FAQ page there’s 2 headings - again totally wasted and takes up space.

  • Just a side note: The Click History page shows in Sydney/Melbourne time, not in local time (Brisbane). Just a typical issue that app and web developers usually need to tackle.

    App looks good, however noticed two things:
    1. When the browser launched paypal login, when i filled everything out and it redirected back to the site, my order details disappeared. Seems like a cookie issue maybe returning from Paypal back to site (house.com.au)
    2. I dont think it tracked my cashback properly from house.com.au purchase unless app purchase takes longer to track via web. As my web one i made a few hours before showed up already.

        Download app, sign in, click Shop Now on any store. Bam $2. If that's too hard for you then you shouldn't be allowed near a phone.

    From the homepage I can search for the shop, click shop now and it takes me to the shop but that kinda defeats the reason for the app…

    Please rename the app from using All Caps to Standard Case. It's affecting my OCD.

    Ok, so anyone that’s been having issues with the app on the iPhone X where it keeps looping back to the main page I have a work around fix. It’s not the best, but it’s the only way I’ve found for it to work.

    Step 1: From the main page click on Rewards Balance at the top right.

    Step 2: Click on the My Click History Button.

    Step 3: Find the store you want to go to from your history and click Revisit Store. From there it should open up correctly into that store.

    I know this only works if you’ve been to that store before, but if the app has a app only special and you need to use the app to claim it and you’re having issues, you could always open it via the website first, click the link then reopen the app and use the revisit button that way.

    I hope this helps anyone having issues and wants to or needs to issue the app.

    I should also point out that for some reason my wife has an iPhone X that works perfectly without any issues. So no idea why I can’t get mine to work. Hopefully they fix it soon.

    • Thanks so much for this detailed analysis Poss81. This is the exact feedback we need, especially given the fact your wife's handset doesn't display the same issue as your handset. Leads to the possibility there's an issue with a setting somewhere, or even a clash of some form with another installed app? Please keep us posted with your findings.

        I managed to save two screenshots of an error that popped up when trying to go to a shop today before it looped back to the main page. These errors where in screen for maybe 1 second each. I hope they help you to find the issue so I can use the app.
