Looking to buy a variety of Herb & Vegetable seeds for new garden. Based in WA, don't mind purchasing online or instore. Prefer premium quality, organic & heirloom? I don't know much about it. Suggestions would be appreciated.
Herb & Vegetable Seeds - Where to Buy?
Comments
I've tried the seed thing. Found it easier to just buy quality established seedlings. Probably works out a tad more expensive but saves a bit of time with better results.
Try and support local family run nursery if you can.
Depends on what you are growing.
Transplanting seedlings doesn't always work well. You'll have to transplant seedlings at some point, whether you start with seedlings or grow them yourself
I get mine from https://www.boondieseeds.com.au. Plenty of varieties of fruits, veggies and flowers.
It's $2 for shipping, or free shipping if you spend $20 or over.
One of the problems is that lots of the seed sellers don't ship all or some of their seeds to WA - including Boondieseeds.
In the past I've bought seeds from this company located in WA https://www.australianseed.com The seeds germinated but I'm a rubbish gardener and they died soon after - every time. I concur with the comment up above to get seedlings rather than seeds.
https://www.mrfothergills.com.au/ (some of which are avail. from bunnings, but not everything).
https://www.edenseeds.com.au/Have used both, happy with both.
Diggers club
i didnt have much luck with Diggers, after finally biting the bullet and joining i found the quality of seed packaging pretty poor.
Try your local library and see if they have a seed exchange, free seeds.
It's the Ozbargain way, and if your green fingered you can always pay foward any seeds you collect from your crop.
