    3yr warranty on Aldi one

    • True, that's why I have confusion lol

      • buy it
use it for 3 years (or replace it any number of times in that 3 years or get money back if they no longer sell it)

        not sure there's a negative……..

        • You have to keep the receipt/proof of purchase for that long. Not a downside if you have decent record keeping

          • @griffy: …or photograph the receipt and store it in the cloud under a directory called 'receipts' (as many people do)

If it's exclusively for your car save your money and your time. Just get quality hose fittings and enjoy.

If you are washing muddy 4wd / dirt bikes / driveway concrete etc then let's talk further.

    • I also +1 for this advice.

I used to use a karcher, but the amount of time to prep and clean up just took up too much time. these pressure cleaners also requires power, so you need to factor that in.

Getting a decent hose gun is all you'll need unless you have very poor water pressure.

The bulk of the cleaning process is still the sponge and bucket though. Don't think you can get a proper clean by just using a pressure washer.

You don't need much for a car, in fact if it's too powerful it will damage the paint. The Aldi one will be perfectly fine.
As mentioned, a quality hose fitting is sufficient although a hose does use more water.

    • Yup, that's what, i need to wash 2 cars and washing SUV is big job - so more water is wasted.
That's also a reason for pressure washer over hose.

  • I own that exact model (Bosch). It's great for the car, but its designed that you carry it close, so it's a PITA as you've only got 3m of tube.

I ended up getting an extension tube for $30 and a good snow foam cannon for $20. Now it's fantastic.

EDIT: it's regularly on sale for $110 so not as crazy as you might think

    • ah, didn't knew its usually for $110 or so. Might we worth trying ALDI, and if that does works - return is within 60 days and buy this :)

      • yeah, i paid approx $103, previous deals have been for $99.

It's a good little compact unit and i've got no complaints other than the short hose. Now i've bought the extension, it's awesome. But that would bring the price up towards $130-140, which might get you something better.

With all these smaller pressure washers, dont expect miracles. You'll lengthen the life if you reduce all pressure inside once you've finished using them (aka squeeze trigger). And always prime the pump with water before powering on (squeeze trigger to remove air with power off). As with all electric pressure washers, it's doable to clean large surfaces, but it takes a really really long time.

EDIT: be weary of accessories that come with any pressure washers. Foamers are pointless (get one off ebay).

I found this one gets rid off baked on dirt, bug sap, and bird poo without needing to even sponge the vehicle after. It just gets rid of everything.

    • This is a sandblaster tho…

Try and find a Gerni at Bunnings from the last deal? Should suit your needs well.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/412806

    • Gerni have 5 year warranty when product is registered online

      • Yeah, Bunnings is second option is there’s no stock in ALDI.
They’re next to each other lol
And I think the one for 69 is sold as it’s off from their website !! Need to check stores

  • Unless removing heavy mud etc, pressure washers are no good for cars. You can pressure wash to your hearts content and nothing, but then wipe with our finger and the dirt comes off instead.

It's to remove large pieces of dirt that may contain abrasive particles such as silica.

Going straight to a sponge will turn the sponge into an adhoc sanding block. That's why some cars have paintwork that looks dull or outright damaged.

Remember - pressure wash, snow foam, rinse, two bucket microfibre mitten, forced air dry, and never drive you car ever again.

Oh dear. Never in my life have I read so much crap about pressure washers.

Having been a rep for both Karcher and Warwick I claim to have more knowledge than most if not anyone here.

1500 psi at 5 litres per minute is useless and yes it is 5 litres per minute. Read the specs carefully.

Foamers are great if you have the correct detergent. Useless if you don't.

As for damaging paint. That's more BS. Have washed vehicles regularly with 90 degree C at 3,000PSI at 15 litres per minute with no damage.

    As for a Gerni…NEVER.

    • Why the bad opinion about Gerni?
