I saw this at Harvey Norman, Chadstone as well so can confirm the price. I actually got a refurbish one that has 1 year warranty from Yamaha from Exelhifi at Hallam, Vic for $419.

For this price, its very decent quality and more for a smaller room or apartment.
RRP is $699 I think and JB hifi ticket price before discount is $532.
The YHT-392AU package is a better system DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD …The RX-V465 receiver in the package is cheaper in the package then standalone …
Well, it's true that YHT-392AU would be better system and of course you have to pay $250 more comparing to this. I bought the YHT294B few weeks ago for #460 when JB had 15% off all Home theatre system and I'm happy with it. With an entry level system, it seems to have all you need.
There is nothing special about HN offer of $467. This is no bargain. I am surprised there was a claim on The Goods Guys 120% of the price difference guarantee. The Yamaha YHT-294 is ticketed for less than $467 at The Good Guys Chadstone Home Maker Centre 675 Warrigal Rd Chadstone, next to the Matthew Flinders Hotel. I will need to check the price and post it on this site. Do be careful with the Harvey Group (Harvey Norman, Joyce Mayne, Domayne and Clive Peeters), my experience with them is that they will have the occasional competitive price, however 99% of their prices are recommended retail. Gerry Harvey did not become a billionaire by giving competitive prices to aussie battlers. Instead Gerry is known for peddling the punters a finance deal with 29% interest. What a ripoff!

I was looking at this system in Domayne when they had their yearly sale.It was $399,RRP is $599.
I went back two weeks later after their sale had ended,same unit was now $499.
When I queried the price,sales person said I still could have it at $399.
So I guess the harder you push the better the price ?
