  • are any of these able to be used camping or anything like that?

    • +16

Only if you take a microwave with you

      • +1

According to the brochure, all meals can be eaten straight out of the fridge.

        • They won’t taste as good though. The pasta salad is designed to be eaten straight out of the fridge though.

        • I think a few are, but most dont seem to be.

    • +1

If you've got a grill, then you could get the wraps.

    • +2

These heat up well if you have a frying pan and camping stove too.

      • +2

        Glamping!

        Foil, engine block.

    waiting for 50% off snacks….. :(

    • +1

Considering the mark up is 300%, wouldn't hurt !

  • Thanks OP

  • +11

They've recently changed some of their packaging, so now some of the elements are separate to the rest - for example, in the steak and creamy mushroom, the beans are now in a separate compartment.

I found the quality seems to have improved recently, with the steak being cut thicker.

They have always been prompt in communication whether on the phone or by email.

All in all, I'm very happy to continue buying YF.

    • +1

Yeah with the chicken snitzel.and chips the peas are separate now. The future! Why not the slaw in the kaarage chicken though?!

      • Maybe they're phasing it in. My glazed salmon had the green beans separate this morning.

  • Thanks OP!
    Good price for these meals.

  • -8

Damn! I just ordered this morning using the $20 off code. Anyone know if YouFoodz would refund the difference?

    • Ring them. Report back.

    • I never ordered last night too. Lucky I waited

  • Thanks OP! Good price.

  • -3

Pretty sure there's still a minimum spend of $49.
So you would have to get $79 worth of food in your cart.

At least that's how it worked with the $20 off one.

    • +6

I just ordered $69 pre-discount and checked out successfully at $39

    • With the $20 one my order came to $49 ish so $69 min for that too, this was the same. The min spend is before discount.

  • What are everyone's favourites?

    • +2

Not sure about everyone's favourites but Here is what I ordered:

      4. Clean Paprika Chicken

    • Love the Laksa personally.

5 minutes after I put an order in….

    Every

    Bloody

    Time!

    • So it’s a great deal.

      Maybe just start another account.

    • Yeah. I just received my order today.
Still, I ordered another lot haha.
I’m not getting the ETA emails or sms anymore. Anybody else?

      • Yeah, mine have been hit or miss. Just when I thought they stopped them a few weeks ago, I got them the next week. This week, no delivered email (or in progress emails) so I didn't bother to check until they'd probably been sitting there for hours.

    • I only buy the ones I can freeze anyways.

      • Which ones do you find are good for freezing?

  • So glad I didn’t put my order in last night! Thanks OP

  • Thanks, just when I needed some more meals :)

  • Thanks. Ordered.

  • +1

how do you get free delivery? (im in WA)

  • +2

Really want to like this company, first batch had a 10 cent size of fresh earth with the sweet potatoes. Maybe a bit too quick from the farm aye?
Second batch came with a bunch of bird crap on the styrofoam box , checked with their customer support and they said the picture they took upon delivering was already pooped on. Love touching poop to get to my food

    • +4

unlucky mate. no issues here after +10 orders except they dont always collect the old boxes so running out of room…

      • +1

How many boxes? I've got 6 in the garage!

      • Really? I've started hoarding them recently. They make great hydroponic floats.

      • They have been pretty good with picking the old boxes up. Although my cat has claimed the last one as some sort of comfy bed :)

    • +1

Sounds like some bad luck. I have ordered about 20 times and haven't really had any issues. But yes they sometimes don't take the old boxes.

    • 10+ orders for me and I can't fault them in any way.

  • FAQ shows delivery times pretty generic. Can I request to be delivered only after 3pm?

    • Try saying you're in an apartment :o But otherwise no, they do have ice packs in them. Otherwise you can have them delivered on a weekend.

    • I request after 4pm in the notes and my delivery guy accommodates it. YMMV tho.

  • Damn this ends before the $5 pack comes in. My delivery today contained a card advertising a $5 survivor pack coming on 15th November. $5 for a new 'nacho beef bowl' meal, coconut charity protein ball, cooler bag and a random juice! I really want one :(

    • Yeah, they've just sent me an email re the Fiver Survivor Pack. And it expires on the 21st of this month, so I'll have to give it a miss. Would have definitely got it had it been available during this deal.

  • +2

They have been going downhill, Nonna’s Spaghetti Bolognaise now has 0 cherry tomatoes down from the original 4. They reduced it a while ago to 3. But none is unacceptable. If they think they can do that kind of thing to save on costs they have another thing coming.

    • +5

Hahaha it sounds like you're threatening youfoodz

      • +1

Threatening would imply nothing has been done about it, however my orders with Freshmeals2u say otherwise. I'm not some rando that orders only during specials, I have well over 50 orders and have tried every single meal they have put out for AGES now.

Freshmeals2u has improved BIG TIME. They lowered how long almost every meal takes to microwave to 2.5 minutes. Their breakfast foods are infinitely better. They made it so that you can peel off the plastic, similar to Youfoodz - you no longer need a knife to open it. However, as an example, the Paleo Chicken is still quite a huge chicken breast in comparison to Youfoodz. They precut it so that it requires less cooking time! Also, all the meals have the same expiry date, unlike Youfoodz where I constantly have to keep track.

Youfoodz will continue to get my orders as well. But the list of meals or items I like lowers all the time. There are some that I like that simply are basically a snack - the canneloni in particular.

    • I like the cherry tomatoes but noticed a few reviews criticising them. Maybe that's why they removed them.

  • +5

You could also get 8 meals for $44.80 if you get the Faves Bundle. Works out to be $5.60 per meal.

    https://youfoodz.com/collections/all/products/yf-faves-bundl…

    • +3

I was considering this as well. But I only liked 2 of the 5 meals. It's a shame that you can't select the 5 and still get the meal deal.

    • WTF! Why aren’t these in the app?
I’ll have to order on the web from now on I think.

    • Did this. Hopefully these will turn out to be tasty. Cheers for the link and trick. And thanks, OP. :)

    • Shows 5 meals for me.

      • The bundle in that link is 5 meals, then you add 3 of your favorite meals from the main menu, and finally apply the discount code. You'll get 8 meals for $44.80.

  • Yeah nice. Gave it a crack, even at full price this will save me on what I normally spend for work lunches.

    • Damn you eat alot lol :D Nothing wrong with that. I wish I can eat. My stomach is so small :(

      • Where are you getting lunch for less than $5.70?

        • I buy groceries and cook?

          • @hasher22: ok, so it's not about how much you eat but the fact you bring lunch from home. It's pretty clear @Hinee was referring to buying lunches at work.

        • Mr Curry before 12pm: Chicken Katsu is $5

      • For my size I have a massive appetite, and since we moved offices to a much more commercial area the options for lunch has been utterly diminished. To be fair I'll be amazed if one of these meals will do me for lunch, but at this price two is still cheaper than ~$15 a go.

  • Thanks OP, they sent me $20 off offer which is their usual discount and I didn't buy, but that extra $10 made me push that buy button!

  • Didn't order with the KICKSTART code as it was averaging $7/meal but this deal is better. According to the card they sent me with my previous order, this would now be my 11th order.

  • awesome, KICKSTART30 worked for me to :). Thanks OP

  • please release bigger serving sizes thanks

    • +4

Just cook up a batch of rice and have in the fridge to use when you cook one of these meals.

      • +1

Here's someone who gets it. That's what I did with my last order (which was my first order from Youfoodz). And sometimes I had bread with the meal. Easy way to fill up if you find the meals not big enough.

  • +1

    $10 shipping to the NT.

  • +1

7 meals and 3 snacks for $42 delivered, nice!

  • $20 shipping to WA. Sigh

  • Thanks OP. Finally took the plunge and ordered.

How often do these circa $5.66/meal deals come around?

    • I don't keep track but I reckon every 2-3 months?

There are discount codes that brings it down to $6-7+ a meal every 2-4 weeks though.

      • I'm torn between ordering more or trying it out first and waiting for the next $5 deal.

I know everyone attests to their tastiness but I'm worried that buying more but then not enjoying it.

        • +1

I've find most of their meals pretty good. Of course, taste will deteriorate the longer you freeze/refrigerate them before consuming it.

If anything, the majority of the complaints here and from previous deals are the portion size, which is probably fair. It is on the smaller side but it suits me and my diet.

        • Found this one of their better deals. I’m guessing the fiver will be a code and you can only add one code per order.

  • Anyone got an expiration date for the code? Looking to do a second order but want to drag Out delivery…

    • Not 100% sure if it's accurate, but someone above mentions it expires tomorrow

  • Epic! Thanks OP

  • +2

Just got my first delivery and downed a chicken pot pie - very tasty! Some of the servings seem like they may not quite fill me up enough but we'll see. Happy with the purchase so far, except they forgot my granola :(

  • -8

Crap deal, doesnt even include WA!

    • +2

Oh no, might as well go and neg every deal that relates to specific places!!

      • -1

I agree with Barnseee - if it's australia wide and only WA is not included…that sucks. They will save money on delivering to some people on the east coast and will pay a bit more delivering to people in WA. There are less of us over here too so it won't be a huge hit. Very disappointing - Barnseee has all reason to neg that imo.

        • +1

They will save money on delivering to some people on the east coast and will pay a bit more delivering to people in WA.

There is delivery to WA, it's just $20 more.

How about I go and neg another deal that has $20 shipping to WA? Same logic!

  • Got my delivery, again there is no snacks in the package. another time they got the snacks wrong.

This is the second time that this has happened.

What's up with them always getting snacks wrong.

  • Just got my delivery this evening. Ordered the 7 meals and got 10. No gifts like they normally include but still big thumbs up for me :)

  • Yep. Double checked my order $39.65 and 10 meals (well 9 now I ate one) in my fridge :)
