I can't even get the game to finish downloading.

Stuck initializing, stuck at 0 B/s, progress bugged. Tried every "fix" and now downloading at 30 KB/s.

Widespread problems that have been around for more than a year without resolution.

No way I'd spend money on a platform that can't even get your content downloaded.

    • Had this problem yesterday.

Basically just to the torubleshooting tips they tell you to (i.e clear cache). Once done, check windows for updates MANUALLY! Once I did this, and windows updated, the initialising went for 10-15 minutes and boom ready to play.

      Hope this works.

However, yes I fully agree. This sort of thing is why I hate anything outside of steam.

Side note: Why is RRP of this expansion so expensive? It costs more than RDR2?

      • Thanks. Trying windows update although can't see how it could be related.

1.75GB to go after a week of downloading (assuming progress isn't bugged again) so not willing to clear cache just yet!

      • RRP is definitely a bit too high, but really there is a (profanity) ton of content in this DLC, as big as some full release games. Still feels nasty paying this much for a DLC to a game, but it is at least quite big

    • I'm in the same boat. Feel like I've tried every bit of advice I could find on the Blizzard servers to no avail.

    • Try clicking on Options and then Scan & Repair. This fixed it for me.

  • Base game but for some reason it takes twice as long to download than other Blizzard games lol

  • While this will clearly get some hate just because "destiny 2 bad lol", at this price i'd actually say the value is pretty decent. This DLC has a big amount of content (good content too).
If you only have base destiny 2 this is also great because it now comes with the 2 previous DLC as well, making $40 very good value as with all 3 combined that is a lot of stuff to do

Yeah that is why I got it, played a lot of Destiny 2 as it is a fun grindy generic shooter imo. Can mindlessly sink several hours haha

Yeah for sure, combat is so well made in this game even with no goal in mind you can just play for quite a while and it feels good.

Base game is free for another week for PC folk too - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/413530

I included the fact it is free in the body but will edit it better and include this link, cheers

  • It's probably worth noting, Blizzard just 'gifted' the base version of Destiny 2 to pretty much everyone with an active subscription/account (as in World of Warcraft etc), as part of Blizzcon 2018 (no Blizzcon Ticket required, everyone seemed to get the gift). If you haven't checked your 'Gift' tab on the Blizzard Launcher, it might pay to do so now.

It could explain why people are having issues downloading extra content, if about 8 million people have just been gifted a game, it makes sense (at least to me) that the servers might be a little choked up with people downloading their freebie. Not a definite answer, just my two cents, you may have better luck next week.

    • They gifted the game to everyone.

I actually created a completely brand new blizzard account just so I could start a new character with my wife as she is playing through for free (and my primary account already has three chars filling the character slots).

You can create as many base destiny 2 accounts as you want. (My side reason for creating a new account is just in case a buddy wants to try the vanilla D2 raid with the rest of us at a LAN one day, but was too lazy during the free period to pick up a copy - I'll have a spare account!)
