I've tried tequila before and it wasn't really my speed, however I really like coffee and coffee flavoured things. What are peoples thoughts on the taste of this?
Tequila is my kind of thing so I gave this a shot (ha!) but it isn't for me. I'm more into the lime/lemonade flavours with tequila.
My guess is that if you like Kahlua or similar you will probably like this.
Any recommendations for a sipping tequila under $100.

I have also tried the el jimador reposado which I think is entirely sippable.
I prefer the Don Julio Anejo over the 1800. For some reason I find it much easier to drink slowly.
@Draxxx: Yeah I scored 2 of the 1800 anejo for $50 each on some ozbargain deal.
It was good, but not 80 bucks good.
I hear Patron is seriously overpriced (or overrated), so hoping the Don Julio lives up to all the praise it receives online.

I also bought some 1800's on special and didn't like the Blanco or Anejo that much. The latter tasted like shit Whiskey to me.
Based on my extensive experience with this product*, I would say it tastes more like coffee than tequila. Do recommend.
*Have tried it only once in my life at a point where I was already well on the way.

It's awesome. You don't taste 'tequila' per se, its like a rich, strong, alcohol-ey coffee liquor. If you have trouble 'shooting' tequila, you may find this a lot easier to put back, but honestly this is so nice, if you can withstand the slight burn, it is enjoyable to sip moderately.
Back in the day when I was younger this was the thing I would regularly buy duty free. My recommendation is: try it, enjoy it, and at this price, if you aren't 100% sold, reserve it for those friends who come around that you are inclined to try and impress, Patron always seems to be a crowd favourite as a 'fancy persons drink' on an otherwise vanilla evening of drinks. Haha
