  • yeah the other ones are on sale as well, TREDPro, they are green. bit cheaper at 158.27

anyone know which to get? credible opinion?

    • +1

2 planks of 2x8 should do it.

      • but what will i use for my road rage then?

        • 1 plank of 2x8.

    • Apart from the mould and colour they are the same thing.
The green one is less fashionable to display on the roof racks when you're sitting in traffic due to the price.

Seriously though, they do exactly the same job in exactly the same way.

      • yeah the mould on high end ones are probably pretty much the same. TRED have lifetime warranty i think i read somewhere - they'll send you a new one if they snap. pretty reasonable if true.

decided to stay clear of chinese ebay ones and aldi, as i doubt they will last, but might work the once or twice you need to use them.

that said, the TREDPro ones look the best, have more studs on them so i think ill just get them.

  • Thanks for that. Bought another 2. Got a bit of sand 4wding coming up so was going to get another pair at some point. Makes it a bit easier to pop out of the sand having 1 for each wheel.

Have seen just about every brand used while out on trips and the Maxtrax, at least from what I have seen, definitely hold up the best. They all work fine when things are going to plan, but if you spin the wheels even slightly while on the boards, the cheaper ones little lugs just break or most of the time melt off. This renders the boards next to useless, as their main benefit on sand is that the wheel grips them, drags them under the tyre into the hole and then drives up the board. So effective if the lugs are there.

Maxtrax seem to put up with a fair bit more abuse before the lugs come away or start to melt. Seem like a higher temp and harder plastic.

  • hmm you got two, it wouldn't allow me to order 2 only 1 :(

  • I've used both and tested both side by side, and won't replace my current Maxtrax with Maxtrax…

The Treds Pro are a much more resilient product, and in my opinion a superior product in many ways

    • nothin like a gorilla in a hi-viz vest to assure me i made the right decision in my order

  • Thanks got another pair to make a full set. Great price on an item that’s rarely discounted!

    • Curious to what was the base price, before stacking the codes?
I could get cheaper than $188 when I went to buy.

  • Can't get $176.22
    Best is $188.81. ??

$265 base price with 11% discount.
    Minus 25%, $66.25
    minus 5%, $9.94

    Total, $188.81

  • Bugger. Was hoping for a reply on how to get the price down to $172…..to see it's expired

    Hesitated

    • +1

i'm annoyed i didn't buy 2 sets of the TEDPro!
