  • I think its time for me to get a new coffee machine.

    Cos u suk

  • which catalogue ? cant find it online. also if the normal price is $279 10% off is $251?

    • Is the normal bundle price really only $279? Cos the grinder alone is worth $150, and the machine is a decent one.

    • its not in any catalogue, hmm that is true, i wonder how the final price was calculated then,
probabily an old tag on the shelf

      • was it marked at that price? ill go and have a look at my loacl target tomm morn

        • the normal shelf tag had 279, there was one of those orange specials tag with the discounted price

    but price-wise it's decent imo

i believe those people paid full price for it XD main issue is the noise which i can confirm it is loud
at half price personally i could overlook it

      • All thermoblock type machines make a lot of noise.. it's the noise the pump makes and it lasts only as long as you pull the shot for… Hardly unbearable and frankly not THAT loud.

        • I have the EM6910. Pretty damn loud. But, as you say, only lasts as long as you're pulling a shot. oh, and when you're pouring water to heat your cup, and the group head. and when you're steaming your milk (but that's often at the same time as the shot).

you get used to it. Friends trying to sleep in don't appreciate it quite so much.

  • This from the comments on Choice.com.au - "We had our Sunbeam Artista EM 5900 expresso machine for about a year. Apparently the computer board burned out and now it wont work. The replacement will be a little over half the price of a new one. The repairman says he sees this a lot in sunbeam machines; poor quality computer boards. I'm pretty disappointed. I will not be buying another one."

    and

"Matt, since there is a general theme of dissatisfaction with Sunbeam products, has Choice ever sought a response from them? Choice might be more likely to get a serious reply than an individual."

excellent deal - machine alone sells for upwards of $400

if you want some opinions from real coffee fans then head to http://www.coffesnobs.com.au and search for EM5900 or EM0450. You'll find the opinions of most to be pretty satisfied from these machines

    • you'll also find lots of stories about sunbeam giving out replacement parts willy-nilly when needed, even outside warranty. They sound pretty good in that regards (thankfully i have yet to need any repairs to my EM6910 machine).
