  • This might be the deal to actually get me to order YouFoodz again i think. I only ordered once before when they had a great deal but otherwise it's been still a bit too steep. This might actually work out well tho.

    • +8

I only ever order when there are deals for 6-7 dollars a meal. So far this is at least once every two weeks lol.

      • Same

  • +3

    Minimum spend $49

  • +1

Conveniently starts as the $1 off each meal ends.

  • +15

I will make the $20 delivery to Perth comment to get it over with

    • Just placed the order, promo code includes free delivery to Perth!! Not including the $20 off.

  • +34

Before the useless questions arrive =

    1. Yes we know they taste delicious.
    2. Yes we know they are small meals.
    3. Yes we know you need to eat two for dinner to meet your calorie requirements.
    4. Yes we know it costs extra for perth delivery.
    5. Yes we know you wouldn't buy them at retail cost but the deals are a catch.
    • +8

Probably 95% of you don't need 2 of these for dinner..

      • -2

i'd say it's more like 50% cos one would never feed a male. These are great for my wife and i only get them for her but i would need 2 minimum, im sure that's often the case.

        • +4

Yeah 2 at least. They're good for a snack or a small lunch though.

        • If they're reasonably skinny and don't do any physical activity, it definitely could depending on how much they have eaten throughout the day.

          • @G3ck0: cobrakai's theory has already been smashed to pieces.

          • @G3ck0: So fat people need to eat more? Nice theory.

        • What I would usually do and I recommend this, is buy the meals with meat and veg only and add your own rice to the meal to fill you up. But even with adding your own rice it still isn't enough, but it helps a bit especially when the meals go down to ~$5-6 a meal. Rice isn't too expensive either in bulk

          • -1

@dblade123: Fill you up = unnecessary carbs with minimal nutrition value which will make you fat

        • Will hand back my Y chromosome….

        • Well these are meant to be a 3 meals plus two snacks planned diet. Most are around 1800-2000kj a meal. Snacks or juice will be around 800 each. Ends up being pretty close to the 8000kj a day.

Won't be enough if your job is very active though or you goto the gym. Or if you are used to eating 6500kj KFC meals solo.

        • +2

You don't need as much food as you think you need.. unless you're very lean, which I doubt.

          • @cobrakai: Why do you doubt it? Actually i am very lean, 6'2 and 75 kilograms.

            • +4

@Iggemo: that is lean.. but the 'one would never feed a male' comment is ridiculous.. you do realise the majority of our population is overweight right? problem is, most of the 'males' you're referring to follow 2 youfoodz with dessert an a few beers..

              • +2

                @cobrakai: as a fat barstard
im eating one of the meals during lunchbreak browsing ozbargain

i feel full. so i agree

its almost like different ppl have different body types with varying appetites, which can also be inconsistent depending on the weather, what i ate for breakfast and the lunar tides

                Maybe we shouldnt generalise

    • Who said they taste delicious?

    • Number 1 is a lie, they all taste like cheap curry paste. Even if it's not a curry meal.

  • +4

I like the cooler bag they gave me with my first order.

  • Interested to know what freebies people have received from YF.

I've previously received protein balls/ a plate/ cutlery sets and the usual discount vouchers too.

    • Cutlery when signing up (both accounts), a plastic plate one account, Cooler bag with the other. A shopping bag with each account some weeks later.

Protein balls and powder with one sign up, just the protein balls with the other. Think they accidentally put 8 of one snack instead of 6 when doing the 1/2 off promo, don’t think it was deliberate.

Probably done about 14 orders total. Only freebies in 3-5 of them total. Excluding the published free meal promos which applied on the delivery day (regardless of if they were published at ordering time) etc.

      • ive only gotten published freebies
so a bag and a shaker and the sign up freebies
        thats it

10+ orders here using only ozbargain codes, maybe thats why

    • Protein balls
      Red wine
      Cooler bag
      Reusable coffee cup
      Cutlery
      Candle

    • +1

A stupid coffee cup. Cooler bag would have been great :(

      • +1

I like the coffee cup actually, but it's not a keepcup, just some knock off with a screw on lid.

    • My collection is missing the plate, do you have a picture of it?

      • +2

You're not missing out. The plate is black dinner sized melamine, says on the back that it cannot be microwaved, but is dishwasher safe.

    • +1

Apart from free food and drinks I've had cooler bags, cutlery, chopsticks, shaker bottles, water bottle, candle, coffee cup, fidget spinner, a rose on valentines day and playing cards.

    • +1

received my first order this week and i received a free plate, cutlery and a protein ball. It was a nice surprise. Now i want a collection of the plates and cutlery :)

      • +1

Snap. I received the same bonuses

    • I got nothing on my first order… Probably cos I used the block20 discount… I love freebies… Lol.. 😞

  • +5

I get these pretty regularly (as often as they appear on OzBargain aka. every second week).

So far, these are my favourite that are above 400 calories and freeze well (I freeze them and take them to work for lunch):

    Slow-cooked lamb shanks (462 calories)
Creamy Chicken & Pearl Pasta (408 calories)
Classic Chicken Pot Pie (439 calories)

Shoutout to Clean Savoury Mince, which comes in at 329 calories.

    • Thanks Mate,

Are these the bigger of the ones you can order or just packed with calories

      • They're all basically the same size (they all use the same container), some are just more calorie heavy than others.

        • Some are much more 'dense' than others, even if physically the same size.

I found the roast Lamb / Pork feel pretty heavy if you want something more filling.

Calorie wise they go all the way up to the 555 Calorie Butter Chicken which I've not had yet.

If you scroll to the last photo for each meal they give a 'real' image of what the meal you get looks like, which is great.

    • +1

Yeah those lamb shanks were awesome. I’m also fond of the steak with mushroom sauce.

    • -1

      fried chicken peas and gravy
      lemon pepper chicken
      creamy chciken pearl pasta
      creamy chicken carbonara

meal pal on the fifth day

      lunch sorted for the week

  • Thanks. Works for me.
But only after I got to $71.60 in my cart. So I think the minimum spend is maybe $69.

    • Starts Nov 8th

      • Ah. Well it still works now. Just has a minimum spend.

  • Had my first delivery this morning from the last youfoodz deal.
People weren't joking when they said the portions are small!

Will be having the spaghetti bolognese for lunch, and the chicken hotpot for dinner.

    • +1

why would you buy the high carb dishes. thats never good value for money. apply buffet logic lol. go for the expensive and hard to make dishes

The chicken and saucier dishes (like lemon pepper chicken) you can add a serve of rice or pasta from home and it is quite filling

if you wanted a spagbol you can just buy the various fresher non frozen variants from colesworth

      • Yeah, I go for the difficult to make at home / don't freeze well dishes. Had the bolognese once as a free meal, it was nice, but carb-heavy meals are likely to feel like smaller portions. Meanwhile, the roasts seem pretty filling. I can imagine the pizza one would be an insane dish to order given the price and the serving size, not to mention you can just order pizza from your local instead. In fact the only reason I can think of ordering pizza here is if you really want Pizza and you want to overpay and get a small portion.

        • +2

the pizza is like 2 slices for the cost of a whole pizza

          but godamn is it delicious

  • +1

minimum spend coming up as $69 😢

    • +12

Yeah, minimum spend $69. Unfortunately their previous deals have conditioned me to think $7 per meal is too much

      • +1

Yep I can't pull the trigger for $7 per meal either. Too small and sick of the lack of vegetarian options.

  • +1

Last order they replaced 4 of my meals with quesadillas, lucky they taste nice. Delivery guy also hasn’t been picking up my boxes at all, just moves them out of the way. Looks outsourced though, and YouFoodz were quick to arrange a bulk collection so I’ll probably continue ordering

    • YouFoodz were quick to arrange a bulk collection

Heard mixed things about collection; Have 6 boxes in the garage that could be picked up! How would you suggest I do this? Thanks in advance :)

  • i have 3 boxes that need to be disposed of…Youfoodz continue to not pass on the simple request of picking them up.

also $7 per meal is too expensive for healthy meals but damn they taste good

  • +1

    $7 ea not cheap enough

  • when will they release the larger sized meals?

  • Thanks, haven't missed any coupon yet(no more than $7 each meal)

  • +1

No mention of a minimum spend on the card they sent me. When I enquired with their online chat service I was told
"Amani. Well don't have to order from us if you don't want to"

    • +1

Is there a legal obligation to include these sort of T's & C's on a voucher?

  • Let's see what the fuss is about. Going by the photos on the site the portion looks like it won't be nearly enough, but an apple here and a banana there throughout the day should keep me full.

  • I've been getting a few meals with pumpkin in it like a loaded salad and beef and veges. Anyways there is pumpkin skin attached to the pumpkin. Is this normal and are you meant to eat pumpkin skin? Never have before so I'm not really sure

    • +1

I don't know either but I've been eating those pumpkin skins with no ill effects.
