A bit late to the party, following Scotty's Post in August about for Ozbargain's Birthday this month!

Thought I'd get the ball rolling/try and get some traction for a meet-up for Saturday lunch (12pm?) on the 24th of November? If we can get at least 10 people confirmed, I think we should make it happen! Sure, I'm not the longest serving member or most the active, but it'd be cool to met some like-minded people and am happy to organise it :)

I'd be keen for a craft beer style pub - perhaps the Brisbane Brewing Co (West End)? Or maybe somewhere where we can stack an Entertainment Book 25% offer with a Good Food Gift Card discount in true Ozbargain spirit? LOL.

Anyone keen to make this happen? I won't add a poll, just comment!

      Definitely won't be odd one out, can't comment on Brisbane per se, but given the Sydney user meetups I've been to you will fit in fine.

    how about a cask of goon (chateau de cardboard) a few plastic cups and meet in the park near southbank?

    bet that works out cheaper than the above suggestions

    As it's just a week away, why not just fix the date (24 Nov lunchtime) and get it rolling? Sorry I won't be able to come. However if someone is paying the bill first — please keep all the receipt and I'll fix them up for you.

    Hey everyone!

    So I've been sussing out a few places that are congruent with craft beer and deals close to the city for ease of travel.

    Option 1: Hula Bar and Grill (Valley/New Farm)

    Positives: Beer/Tapas. 40% off if I book with Dimmis, Entertainment Book BYGOF (if they allow double stack) AND AMEX shop small.

    Cons: Place looks a little small, may not have the atmosphere we are looking for…. I've never been there so I can't vouch for how good or bad it is

    Option 2: Montague Hotel (West End)

    Positives: Beer. Good Atmosphere. Have been there before and enjoyed it.

    Cons: No deals (even gave the manager a call) a little expensive.

    Option 3: Merthyr Bowls Club (New Farm Park)

    Positives: Barefoot bowls as well as food; novel.

    Cons: Never been there before (myself) may be a flop haha.

    What does everyone think? Any other suggestions?

      Sister in law also suggested Lucky duck - Highgate Hill. Says they have great beers and a cool back area :)

      Hula looks good to me. They have bottomless tiki cocktails on Saturdays too for anyone looking to really get on it.

    Sorry, gonna have to miss this :( I'm already doing a day trip on Friday to Brisbane (from Toowoomba) to get some Black Friday sales from Costco but fuel is too expensive to go again on Saturday, and can't stay the night on Friday. Have fun everyone going!!
