Could be other stores as well, so ring your local store but better get in quick before everything goes!

Everything! Was their much stock in the fiction section especially the crime/thriller section ?
Absolutely everything, and if it was marked down, it was 75% off that price. Yep, probably about half the crime/thriller stuff was left this arvo.
Yes everything - sorry I didn't take a picture of the signs.
I only did a really quick walkthrough because I wouldn't have had time to line up to purchase anyway.
I think it's safe to say it'd be slim pickins but if you're prepared to have a good look around you might find something - a lot of books have been moved out of their section.
Great deal
Does anyone know if it is all Angus & Robertson stores that are closing? Reason I ask is that some are owned and run by A&R while some of them are Franchise stores.

Rhodes?
Nothing like a good bargain as a business goes under…
Definitely get in quick. I was in A&R Garden City a week ago and the shelves were just about empty then.
Ahhhh painful
I'm trying to move all my books into e-reader format, but now an epic sale on printed books…Whyyyyyyy!
Went to Sunnybank QLD this morning, not much left but still got some good titles and paid ~30 intead of ~120!
A fair bit left this morning @ around 10:30am (Camberwell, Vic)
Most of the best stuff is gone, but seemed like there was lots of kids stuff and plenty of fiction. Was looking for photography books - dont bother going if your just looking for those :)
Dont bother calling - they are just picking up the phone and hanging it up right away.
Just been down to James Place in Adelaide, the one store in SA that's closing … a bit sad to walk in and see a half empty store. Plenty of childrens novels left, and a fair bit of adult crime/thriller etc fiction… slim pickings of anything else.
Despite the "UP TO 75% OFF" signs, its 75% off EVERYTHING … that is the main marked price (so ignore any extra '2 for 1' or '50% off' stickets … they just scan everything you buy, then whack on the 75% discount at the end.
Thanks to the blokes working there today when I went in & bought $1000 worth of books for about $300 … still helpful despite the situation - they said the store is closing at the end of March, but realistically will probably close when they're out of stock, which is probably only a week away :(
Just went to the Wetherill Park (NSW) store and there is 75% off, not many YA books left, plenty of fiction.. picked up some books I've been after for a while!
Proceeded to drive to Liverpool (NSW) to see if it was also 75% off - it isn't yet, still 50% off. Bigger selection, but nothing that interested me :(
at Blacktown (NSW) at the moment, theres 75% off there - theres still half the store filled with books, many in rather bad condition cause people have just been chucking them around. I saw a fair amount f YA fiction, plenty of fiction, plenty of that Eclipse novella and a dearth of what I would've considered good books.
I will head there tomorrow :D
Glenelg store in Radelaide has no stock clearances
Its a franchise store, therefore not closing = no sales. Only the 'company owned' stores are shutting, with most of them being interstate.
Well the heidelberg store was taking a pumping today. thanks for the heads up
Camberwell store (at 4pm today) had several books for teenagers and the odd good read for me- all books and calendars were 75% off. Thanks guys.
Went to Camberwell(Vic) at 2:30.
Now's the time to buy Harry Potter and Eragon books for $6-7 each. Not many people have touched the health and religion books, and there were plenty of vampire themed novels. There was still some sci fi, crime & thriller, history, military, teenage, natural science, new age, language tapes & German dictionaries and quite a few humour and kids books. There was heaps of bookmarks, twilight posters & keyrings and plastic pencil boxes, if that's what floats your boat. The stationary available consisted of one packet of Texta branded pencils, one roll of mangy sticky tape, a spool of plastic ribbon and the mentioned pencil boxes. I think there were some road map thingos and lonely planet's.
There weren't a lot of cookbooks and the food and wine guides were outdated. There's a Borders opposite the store that's got 40% off fiction and cook books until Sunday, if you grab one of their coupons.
The store at Camberwell opens at 10am on Sunday.I visited the Parkmore store this afternoon and there was hardly anything left on the shelves but managed to pick up about 15 books betwee myself and my partner.
Just a note: if you have an Angus and Robertson gift voucher, you will only be able to use the full amount on the voucher if you spend a minimum of $120 (because the company is under administration, as I was told). Otherwise, you'll only be able to use a partial amount of your gift voucher to pay off your books if you have less than $120 worth of books.
wow great sale… went to camberwell today and got 13 books for $45.00 most of the good stuff was taken but still some quality stuff today. still open tomorrow but most gone. anyone been to southland or waverley gardens?
by the way, the glen waverley store in the glen shopping centre appears to have been already closed. it was walled up when i went today.
R.I.P. I will miss the stores … but I couldn't afford them anymore. They made a good living off me as long as they could.
does anyone know if any borders stores are closing?
Everything is $2 (except ereaders) at the A&R Murray Street Perth.
There are lots of copies of the Twilight Companion and some book about Steve Vizard left!
I didn't really look through everything, the queue to buy is pretty long and I think they've turned off the aircon to save money or something…
