      Shop10 excludes Hisense tvs

      • Ah Ok. Missed the fine print.

Holy wow. This is a great deal.

So so so tempted but Panasonic plasma 65" still going strong and would pull the trigger if they has a really good deal for a 70 or 75".Fingers crossed they will next month

my 60 inch ST50 Panasonic plasma from 2012 died a few weeks back, have pulled it apart and think its just a dead capacitor on the powerboard (which seems strangely crappy chinese looking compared to the rest of the boards in the TV. Awaiting some capacitors on order from the UK.

      • +1

My pana plasma of the same vintage has had the power board replaced twice under warranty. Still an awesome telly. Just clean the fans every year.

      • Mine died as well after 1 yr of purchase from DS, cost me $600 to get it fixed. Not happy, will never buy another Panasonic TV again.

  • Is hisense better than the $6-700 kogan TV's?

    • I don’t have any experience with the Kogan TVs but I can say I’ve had my Hisense UHD for 2 years and it’s never failed me. Image quality is great, it has HDR support and comes with a 3 year warranty.

    • Yes.

    • A lot better.

      • Ok thanks

    • +4

To paint you a picture, my 'latest' Kogan TV takes 25-45 seconds to come on with a picture when hitting power. It loads into a 3/4 screen with apps around the outside, you have to click to make it go full screen, after clicking it is 5-10 seconds before the picture comes back full screen, and there is about a 30% chance that the source (HDMI) will randomly change during the full screening process.

If I ever met Captain Kogan, I'd take the TV with me so I could personally hand it back to him.

      • Haha well thanks for the insight. I guess I'll save my shekels for something better.

Is there much difference between the P6 and P7?

    • I had a look in store and there is noticeable difference in terms of image, the p7 had deeper blacks and colour just seemed to ‘pop’ more. Both looked fantastic though. According to specs p7 has 10bit colour and better motion rate, also has local dimming. P7 has black bezel, p6 silver

      • I have the P6. The whole 10 bit colour confuses me - I'm assuming the P6 just fakes it. The Xbox One X says it supports all 4K HDR modes so I'm happy - games look amazing on it.

I paid a lot more for mine though :( at this price it's a damn bargain.

      • Go the P7 10bit and local dimming is worth a lot more than you realize. Also if you plan on watching sport the P7 will be better

        • Hi hessels, could you please elaborate on the preference of the p7 for Sport?

          • @RickoWest: Probably referring to if you turn on the motion smoothing it then can take advantage of higher mhz (most dont like it) but for sports its ok.

          • @RickoWest: Actually people say the P8 is the one to get for sports watching and gaming.

  • Debating between samsung UA75NU700WXXY or https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/hisense-75-inches189cm-uled-u…

I hear samsung 100hz and hisense 200hz, any other difference, wife wants samsung.

    Your feedback?

    • P7 Hisense is a better TV. A better comparison would be a 8000 Samsung and it would be better however more $

  • I have the P7. The picture is pretty good but I hate the OS.

For example, if you are streaming stuff to it from your media server and you change to another input, it doesnt save your point in the media file and you have to start from scratch to find / locate and fast forward to the point in the video you were up to.

    • Hisense TVs are let down by their OS/smart TV functions. I consider this a small compromise though considering their hardware/panels are generally pretty good for the price. No problem for me as I have an Xbox for media duties.

Just be aware I have this TV and some things bug me.
1/. Wifi jams up and you will need to reboot the tv everynow and then
2/. They never update software and or add apps. "no Amazon prime" the apps on this tv are basically Netflix and Youtube- Freeview is buggy as
3/. Sound is just ok if you have a small room. If you have a big room you WILL need a sound bar
4/. Screen casting from anything either than windows 7 or mobile wont work
I use a chrome cast now for most "Smart" things and sorted alot of my issues out.

Great quality tv with no motion judder, would like to see more software updates but for a cheap 4k great price

    • Software updates for TVs feel redundant to me.

They lose support faster than anything that has Wi-Fi updates.

    • Is this TV suitable for gaming?

      • Playing RDR2 on last year's hisense N7 and it looks amazing, hdr is looking the best I've seen it. Honestly, for me OLED is the only noticeable step up in picture quality on the market

    • Recently the Wi-Fi on my 58P5 has been dropping out once or twice a week. This is solved by turning the tv off and on at the wall. I can live with the current frequency, but if it increases I will be looking at repair/replacement options. Other than that I have found it to be a great tv. Agree Smart cast is a waste of time, chromecast all the way.

  • been meaning to get a 65" tv. Score. Thanks OzBargain!!

Waiting for the 65P7 for $995 at chrissy

Samgsung, LG and Sony have 99% share of big screen TV market in north america. It has reasons I think. I pay for brands not price. Still good price.

    • Marketing?…

    • Better you than me.

  • In the same mindset as others. The way prices are going I feel I should hang out for a 75 inch oled and more so in a samsung/lg/Sony due to the reported OS complaints a few people seem to comment on with the Hisense.

I haven't moved in (renovation) yet and my wall is screaming for at least a 65 inch, 75 inch being even better but I have 120 inch projector screen that will come down in front of it so I feel I can make do with a 65 for regular viewing.

Decisions decisions. Can anybody a bit more TV-wise weigh in on my options. Is it the series 9 Hisense that is the oled range?

    • Where do you think prices on 75" (77") OLEDs are going? static ice

And no Hisense doesn't have an OLED range.

Might get a 65" OLED around 3k during sales later in the current model ranges life (my guess without research)

      • No idea, hence my question, my apologies for asking I suppose…

As far as OLED or not, I'm not too phased, moreso a question of what I should be looking out for around $2-4k mark for a 4k TV in either 65-75 inch over the next couple of months.

        shrugs

My questions point more to bang for buck as far as usability and overall quality, based on people's experience. I didn't think that was too much to ask.

    • +2

Definitely Hisense. Hands down. I had a Soniq and switched to a Hisense, it's infinitely better. HDR, more smart tv functions etc.

  • Price has changed

  • This is a sign of good things to come Boxing Day sales!

    • +1

Last year the boxing day sales on TVs were really underwhelming.

  • How do these Hisense TVs compar to Kogan ones in terms of picture quality?

    Thanks

    • +1

      Better.

  • My family had used Hisense since 90s in China. I purchased their UHD 55' 2 years ago at the GOOD GUYS 20% off promotion.

It is a great brand and highly recommended from my experience!

  • Our 58" Hisense has great picture quality, but since new keeps freezing when switched to the TV input. Have lived with this issue by watching TV on a HD recorder through the HDMI input. Is simply a case of a "smart" Tv with budget hardware

Wish this was the P7 at this price!
