    Decent price for a mechanical keyboard, but just a note to buyers:

    Mechanical Switch Type: Brown Switch

    Unless it specifies elsewhere, this likely means it's a Chinese copy of the Cherry MX Brown switches. Not illegal, because the Cherry switches have passed their patent period so legit and even good copies have come out, just be aware so you're making an informed decision.

    Either way, $50 for a mechanical keyboard (which were at least $150+ just a year or so ago) is bonkers.

    (Having said that, you can find mechanical keyboards with genuine Cherry MX Switches for about maybe $10-$20 more, e.g. here.)

    • Do any of these keyboards offer any programmable functionality of any kind ?

      • +1

        At the $50-$70 price-point for mechanical keyboards? Not that I can remember coming across, but there are a few at the ~$100 pricepoint I think, and on a sale you might be able to pick up one of those for close to $70. Maybe.

        Edit: like this one for $104.50:

        Logitech G613 Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

        Romer-G mechanical switches which are decent; and

        6-programmable G-keys

    • copy of the Cherry MX Brown

      Yup these are Outemu switches.

    • surprisingly….in terms of mech keyboard switches the chinese copies do a better job than the originals.

  • I have the smaller $49.99 version. It's become my everyday keyboard only thing is small right shift key but I've adapted

  • cheaping out on peripherals is really not the play if you are on the pc alot, even if you dont play games, a nice mouse and keyboard can make a world of difference.

    • +1

      typing on a mechanical keyboard even for work makes computer use so much more enjoyable.

    Pretty happy with this keyboard. Not a gamer though.

    Pros:
    * Solid and weighty
    * Compact
    * Backlit
    * Mechanical

    Cons
    * No numpad

    • +4

      I don't think the numpad omission bit is a con for a TKL keyboard - that's the main feature.

      • -3

        I think compactness is the feature. Not being able to enter numbers quickly is a downside imo.

        • But that's the whole point of a TKL keyboard. It's like saying a motorbike is too small to fit a fridge because its not a truck and calling it a con for that particular motorbike.

            @PrivateSmuggler: I get you all. It just depends on your perspective.

            If you bought this because it's TKL, then YES, I agree.

            If you bought this because it's compact. Then missing the numpad is an inconvenience.

          Compact with numpad but needs getting used to as certain keys require a modifier.

    Any chance for a discount for the TKL78 as well? Thank you
