  • Jesus. Just posted my campos deal…. backing up with coffee. Can’t wait till tomorrow morning, hopefully you have it as a long running deal, would love to check yours out.

      Cheers

  • Very long time Manna Beans subscriber here. This deal looks good, your subscription offer is 1kg monthly@$35 incl delivery?(Manna is $1.95 more and done in 500grm bags of blends and very occasionally a single)
Always hard to jump ship though.

Hi there.. Yes its a crowded competitive arena!
I do things a bit differently though.
Small batch roaster.. Only 2.5kg at a time.
Quality control is high. I select my beans carefully and only choose singles that can stand up as singles. We can all credit the farmer this way:)
Yep.. You get a kg of a different single origin every month for $35 including express delivery.
      Cheers

      • Probably a rookie question, how many cups (say a 12-ounce cup) of coffee (say cappuccino) can you make out of 1kg coffee beans, as a rule of thumb?

        • +1

          Hi there… It's a good question.
It depends on your brewing method but a double shot is usually 18-22g of coffee.
So by that you would get 45-50 cups of coffee from 1kg.
          Cheers

I checked Breville's Dual Boiler manual before
And it recommends the following for the single/double basket:

"Breville's filter baskets have been designed for 10g/18g, a larger volume than the industry standard of 7g/14g. Using less than 10g/18g may affect the espresso produced."

My personal preference is single short. But multiple times a day. :)

"Luc" Personally I love the thrill of the chase and the hunt.

I get bored having the same all the time,so diversity is the spice of life. No need to jump ship as you say ( permanently anyway unless your happy to stay ), you can always go back and like it even more.

  • Hey there TCC.
I’m getting back into coffee & have just picked up new filters for my Toddy cold brew system.

What bean would you recommend from this deal that would suit the Toddy? I think I did Ethiopian beans in the past.
    Will it be filter roast?
    Thanks (:

    • Hi there.. Welcome back to coffee :)
I would go for the PNG and Peru.. Both well balanced coffees and darker than the Uganda.
      Enjoy :)

      Cheers

Ok, I'm in then. Jetblack Espresso have just serviced my Lelit. A change is as good as a holiday. I'm familiar with some of those producers too as Manna has over the years stocked them.

So dates for your roasting determine when you mail out subscriptions?

    • +1

Yep.. I'll start roasting next week.. Wednesday and post out as I go.
My roasting schedule is on the front page of the site :)

      Cheers

Can't vouch for the taste, but upvoted for the great customer service from the owner/roaster/rep.

You might like my comment on the Campos posting and agree with me Rep ( quietly of course as most smart sales people do ) lol.

After living and working in Melbourne cafe's/restaurants for years, the last 15 years I have lived in the Byron Hills area where they have grown coffee for years and I have never favoured those beans, and they were never cheap.

Through my love of coffee and interest in the industry I had the pleasure of a one on one coffee education/tasting session with a Mark Bullivant ( a cult coffee figure up here ) who manages Byron Blue Estate, a 45,000 tree estate in Coopers shoot for a Billionaire in the oil industry. He has his own warehouse in Ballina where he imports, roasts and trains up/educates various levels of coffee lovers/owners/workers. He roasted up and made me the Best Coffee I have ever tasted in my life, still chasing it now lol.

        • Thats great.. I use cofi com occasionally so will look out for those beans and sample some. Thanks for the info:)
Let me know if you want any tasters of anything :)

@Twocrackscoffee: Thanks you kindly. Still have some beans, but tempted to try yours soon, as well as one day roasting my own too.

Great deal, can vouch. Only issue I have is, 2KG takes a while to go through, as a snob, I find beans stop being amazeballs after 2 weeks.

    • +1

      A fellow snob! :)
Yep that's fair enough.. The PNG takes a bit longer to peak actually.. Up to 2 weeks.. Can always vaccum pack and freeze.
I don't.. And you probably wouldnt but a few do and reckon it works well:)

      Otherwise sharing is caring!

      Cheers
