  • Thanks for the info, just ordered one

anyone have idea where i can by a cigarette power splitter so that i could use the fm transmitter and gps at the same time?

    • eBay has decent ones with 4 ports for around $5 delievered

      • didn't find a $5 4 ports one, but a $6.69 3 ports
while, i think 3 would be enough for me

But then again, this is attached toyour iPhone/iPod. Why does it need to be plugged into your car charger?

        • it connects to the audio of your iphone/ipod…

the transmitter needs to either use batteries or connect to the car charger to transmit…

i got the earlier model of this for $30 from HT when they were getting rid of their old stock about 18 months ago… it's ok, but it is really hard to find a frequency that isn't being used by something else, and if you are anywhere near a tram on the road, you get noticeable interference…

  • +_+ i'm now confused

    on dicksmiths' web it says,
Power: Uses standard 12V DC car jack to keep the iPod or iPhone charged

I'm wondering if i don't need keep my iphone chargeg do i have to connect the transmitter to the car jack? or it can be powered by iphone?

    • I guess you have to connect it all the time.

    • i have one of these and it cannot be powered by the phone. have to plug into the car to work.

  • Thanks, just ordered 2.

    • W-ow. Received my delivery today - one day after placing the order. Well packaged. DSE order fulfillment rocks!

The tunecast is not bad either. I was hoping that maybe the iPhone would be able to use the FM transmitter as a handsfree but it appears that it cannot. The RDS display for the song name is cool though, and finding a clear channel is relatively easy (although I suspect it just picks random frequencies lol).

  • Has anyone used this? I used a cheap FM transmitter before and the sound is bad, it just keep fuzzing, is this one better? Can I expect almost perfect sound like playing from a DVD/MP3 plug?

    • Yeah I use one. You just have to play around with it to get it working well, but works great after that.

  • Thanks, ordered!!

  • I have one of these and highly recommend it! No fuzzing or interference.
