Thanks OP! These Eco-Drive watches practically pay for themselves, you never have to buy another watch battery again.

    • The $52 auto watch in the other deal does the same thing :)

      • There's a place for both. Automatics are interesting, ecodrives are accurate and reliable.

I do wonder why they continue to use mineral glass in such rugged design watches though.

        • +4

it seems that sapphire is scratch resistant but brittle, mineral glass is easier to scratch but also less brittle so doesn’t break as easily …..for a dive watch you want to be able to take more knocks and not break rather than scratch resistance ….it’s not for cost cutting …………..seilko have a hybrid glass that has characteristics of both.

        • Agreed. I'd never buy an automatic watch for day-to-day use though.

Granted I wore my SKX007 for years but, maybe because I'm OC, it always annoyed me to think my time wasn't 100% accurate.

          • @butter: Ironically with automatic watches you would have to wear it daily or it stops. Unlike solar watches. You can get away with not wearing for months.

      • What watch and which deal?

          • -1

@idonotknowwhy: Eh, that first one looks like it may be of cheap Chinese build quality to my eyes man. I consider them more worth around $35. For them to be of that price I guess there's a saying that goes around which I noticed applies to most things in life "you get what you pay for". I'll give it to you though the last two look nice & casual, I'd wear them. I wouldn't bother wearing the first three, but that's just my opinion. Wot even is a Cadisen, some cheap chinese Gearbest brand?

            • +2

@NeedWifeForVeryCheap: Username doesn't check out then lol

            • +1

@NeedWifeForVeryCheap: You obviously don't know much about them then. Those Cadisen watches use either a Seiko movement (from the Seiko 5 series) or a Miyota movement (Citizen). Many of them have a sapphire glass, and have at least as good, or better water resistance than their Japanese counterparts.

$35 is a joke, you can't actually buy the Miyota or Seiko watch movements for that price.

            • @NeedWifeForVeryCheap:

Wot even is a Cadisen, some cheap chinese Gearbest brand?

Wot even is Campanola? Some no name brand?

              • @Fullhalter: They are just made up brands that originates from a random factory in Shenzen. Who really cares? Its a $35 watch. You either accept the funny name or go buy a brand.

I personally bought brands like Guanquin and Star King etc. Its hard to beat the quality of the watches for the money.

They go in rotation with my other watches.

I have no seen a design I like from Cadisen so no buy from me.

                • @tonyjzx: I'm on your side mate. No one knows Campanola, but it's Citizen's highest end branding. The same goes with Chinese no names. It matters little.

Life after SEIKOLEX is boring. And believe it or not, many WISs even prefer quirky Chinese watches than high end shopping centre watches, no matter how good.

That Aqualand is huuugeeeee! i think 42mm is my limit since my hands are not huge.

      Is that you, Donald?

    • I have an SKX and the BN0150-10E from this post. They don't seem much different on the wrist tbh. Even though the BN0150-10E is meant to be 44mm and the SKX is 41.5mm, I can't tell the difference day to day.

Thanks @WatchNerd, money saved by brewing beer can be reinvested into watches.

    Great deals. Thanks WatchNerd.

  • +1

Hi Op, great deals - can you do any deals on female watches, e.g. Citizen Eco Drive FD4005-57A ?

  • +1

    Thanks WatchNerd!

I just ended up pulling the trigger & purchased my first "real watch" the Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Gold Trim, SS Bracelet BN0194-57E for $249.00 as my Black G-Shock is starting to feel a little childish at 25 years old… I can't believe Shiels sells it for $650 compared to $249 as well! Highway robbery wow.. I'm assuming these are what they refer to as "grey market" watches? How else could they be so cheap? As long as they're legit I'm happy :)

When it arrives I can assure y'all that I'll be rolling around like I've hit the jackpot & am Pablo Escobar (especially after I used to think I was the shit rocking around in my replica China Rolex 10 years ago).

Heck, I might even take a trip down to Jupiter's/The Star with my new fancy watch & hunt out some good old Cougars down Atrium Bar to try impress..they're going to think I'm a millionaire. Just hope that I don't come across any snobby Seiko enthusiasts along the way.. Although I would like my next watch to be a Seiko with Diamonds such as this https://www.starbuy.com.au/seiko-le-grand-sport-diamond-stee…

Thanks for introducing me to StarBuy, Kudos to you mate =)

By the power vested in me it is my solemn duty to hereby absolve you of all blame and any residual guilt concerning the essential acquisition of this premium exquisite horological masterpiece. ® © ™

      • Thank you kind sir, I feel blessed!
I just hope that I'll be able to sell it on Ebay or something for $350 if it doesn't end up suiting me.. Watching XRP & BTC on livecoinwatch daily is starting to make my mental illnesses even worse & so does guilt. Thanks for the kind cradling & comfort, really made me feel a little bit special. Hope you have a great day my friend =)

It's an impressive watch and StarBuy purchases tend to arrive quickly. Welcome to OzBargain.

          • +1

@PJC: Thanks man, & yes very impressive price for it too from every other website i compared including international ones. There are a few that I like a bit more but they are all around $600+ & I'm trying to be frugal haha. Been browsing here for 5+ years, finally decided to make an account for giggles :P OzBargain has saved my family & I thousands of dollars in the long run it's great =)

            • @NeedWifeForVeryCheap: Welcome to Ozbargain. You can only vote on deal posts if you're logged in, so kudos to you for finally creating an account.

    • i have the blue and stainless version …..it’s a very classy watch, wr200, and the crown also has some effort put into the design ……also the narrow bezel makes the watch look big but it actually isn’t, so you get looks without the bulk.

    • +2

StarBuy aren't grey stock - full international and australian warranty as usually provided by citizen, seiko etc. They only have 1 shop front in the country, do most of their business online and probably do a bit of haggling with citizen and seiko etc by buying a lot of units to get prices down. Have bought from them many times and mostly have received watch in 2-3 days. I'll never buy a citizen or seiko anywhere before checking starbuy.

  • Would anyone know if these are made in Japan or China?

    • +17

      Yes

      • +7

        Thanks. That's reassuring.

  • Nothing for the ladies?

    • +5

ladies can wear these, we live in an era of equality.

  • Not sure if Myers would price match!

  • Thanks watchnerd !
Was wondering whether you might be able to source the BN0151 at some stage. I'm really after that done and haven't been able to find any even remotely reasonable pricing on it.

    • -1

Pulled the trigger on the BN0150 !
Still after the BN0151 (the blue version) if you every come across it WatchNerd.

And 'thanks' again for the great prices !

  • when are the codes valid till?

    • Hopefully until next payday :P

      • yeah thats what i hope

        • +1

Hello all. The promo codes are set to expire at midnight on Monday the 22nd.
          Thanks

          • @StarBuy: Hi rep, are the watches made in Japan?

            • @[Deactivated]: Hi there. Is there a particular one you want us to check? Citizen generally make the premium watches fully in Japan. These dive watches are cased in China by Citizen.

              • @StarBuy: Hi,

                Where to check the following:

Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Black, SS Bracelet BN0190-82E

                Thanks

                • @[Deactivated]: This model is cased in China. Thanks

                  • @StarBuy: Thanks.

                  • @StarBuy: Hi,just got my BN0150-10E and the crown is stuck any solution for this?
                    Cheers

                    • @Davidenco: @Davidenco . Hello. Your watch has a screw down crown so it will need to be unscrewed first. Please refer to the enclosed instructions manual on how to unscrew the crown, set the date and time and screw it back in.

                      Thanks

                    • @Davidenco: Unscrew it. I was wondering about the same, but managed to figure it out.

  • Several Websites including Citizen Australia says BN0150-10E is 44mm.

    • +1

I own one & the measurement across the middle is 43mm, but if you measure it from the back it's closer to 44mm.
Ok I will change it to 44mm, thanks. But it wears smaller than that, my wrist is 7 inches and it looks fine.
It's a great watch, I wear it the most out of all my watches.

      • I wonder if it looks big for a 6.5 inch wrists.

        • Nah it will be fine.

  • Pull the trigger or wait for holidays sales?

    • Pull the trigger.

      • Just got my BN0150-10E I wasn't lucky the crown is stuck can't move it at all. Have you had any problems like this?

        • +3

These are dive watches, they have a screw down crown. You have to gently unscrew it first then it will pop out.

  • I've had the first one (BN0150-10E) for a year or so.

Its a really good beater watch but the band is feral on so many levels.

I ended up putting a Bonetto Cinturini 285 band on it and haven't looked back.

Its got 20mm bands so make sure you get the right one.

I have these bands on all my watches (including my SKX) and they are so bloody comfortable (and smell like vanilla!!)

  • +1

Thanks OP, just picked up the BN2024, wanted one for ages and this is a fantastic price.

  • +2

Just got permission from the missus, and bought the BN0190-82E. Thank you my friend! And thanks Starbuy, as this was not available last month (still not on main Citizen page, either)

  • +3

These watches may cost more than other 200m watches, but these are iso certified; you're getting a real dive watch:

"ISO 6425 – Divers' watches international standard. This standard was introduced in 1996. ISO 6425 defines such watches as: A watch designed to withstand diving in water at depths of at least 100 m and possessing a system to control the time. Diving watches are tested in static or still water under 125% of the rated (water) pressure, thus a watch with a 200-metre rating will be water resistant if it is stationary and under 250 metres of static water."

    • Cool - as pressure increases by 1 Atmosphere ever 10 meters, this means you could safely wash your hands wearing it @ 200 meters…

  • Thanks WatchNerd. I've been keeping a eye on your deals and finally decided to buy a BN0191-80L. Very classy looking watch - looking forward to wearing it!

  • +2

Cheers OP, got each of the blue and black SS Promasters~

    • +2

By the power vested in me it is my solemn duty to hereby absolve you of all blame and any residual guilt concerning the essential acquisition of both these premium exquisite horological masterpieces. ® © ™

  • hmm own the blue already but black on stainless bracelet looks very nice ….or save coin for the titanium version ?

    • +1

Get this one, I've never had to take off my stainless steel watch because it was too heavy.

  • Always wanted and now got the Promaster Blue. Why do you have to make me spend before I sleep :D Note to self, don't check OzBargain before going to bed.

    • if you spend before you sleep it will be just that much closer to being delivered when you wake up ….

  • Thanks OP,get a BN0190-82E. Great price with this watch, my friend got a exactly same one and he told me many times how good is it. So I am gonna give CITIZEN a try even I've already had ORIENT M-Force.

  • would be great to get a deal on the following watch: Citizen Satellite Wave CC3005-51E

    • +1

Hi there. In its wisdom, Citizen have decided to retire all Satellite Wave models in Australia. We get a selection of stock from them sporadically from their overseas distribution centers in the US and Europe and its lucky to get Satellite Waves from there at a good enough price. We are not expecting any new offers from them for any Satellite Waves till February at this stage. Thanks

      • +1

Thats cool thanks. I will wait and hopefully grab one once its back in stock.

      • When will the orders start getting shipped?

        • 1-3 Business days.

      • Rep, any smaller watches (under 40mm for the small-wristed folks like myself) with leather or NATO straps)? Cheers

  • I’m interested in this watch but there is no good deal for it 🐷Citizen Eco-Drive AT2340-81A Titanium Chronograph

    • Out of stock in most shops.

  • -1

    Quite disappointed with the seller.
The watch came in non-original box without any protective film to show as new.

I wish I knew these issues before buying.

    • That's not good.

Mine came in a proper box with a manual etc.

    • Did you receive the Citizen warranty?

    • +3

@ Orin Hi there. Could you please send us an image of the box that you received the watch in so we can see. Re the protective covering, Citizen (or for that matter Seiko or G-Shock) do not apply protective covering to all the models.

Awaiting your reply on [email protected]

      Thanks

      • -1

The box was a cardboard box with a completely different model number printed on it. I am in transit heading overseas, below is the image of same box I received.

        https://www.google.com.au/search?q=citizen+promaster+watch+b…

That's an image to the box I received.

The original should be either an air tank or in a plastic black hard case.

Very disappointed as I was looking forward to the opening of the box.

        • +3

Every market gets their own box and Australia did not get that one. The box that you received is the only box Citizen in Australia have released. The warranty and the instructions manual would also have been included with the parcel.

          • +4

@StarBuy: That is the same type of box I received my new Citizen BM8475-34E from Starbuy in a couple of years ago.

Can't say it caused me any angst.

        • +3

          Very disappointed

If you were that disappointed you could have contacted Starbuy when you first received the parcel. I think you're the first to complain about a genuine Citizen box not being genuine on here.

  • I did receive the warranty paper though.
