  Read the Amazon reviews if looking at the JR, it's a 3-4 year old model with no more updates and an apparently sluggish interface

Thanks a bunch OP. Been pining for a Fiio (because of its affordability) for such a long time now and I think Astell&Kern is a whole lot better product overall. Finally a top-end DAP that I can afford.
