Sony has taken a lot of market share already and a lot of people are expressing their disappointment with this latest offering from Canon. No dual card slot, no ibis, etc. Personally I believe it’s what your comfortable using and I have too much canon glass so I jumped on this deal.
my biggest complaint against Canon is lacking dynamic range. there are workarounds to make pictures look better, but man.
still, I hold on to my Canon gear! because I am a man of some strong principles. and vast Canon gear owner, too. I have grand total of 3 lenses! sold the rest.
But numbers are showing that Canon has gotten #1 on both DSLR and Mirrorless sales of 2018.
Maybe in Japan. Sony has highest market share in full frame cameras

What source are you basing that on? I'm not surprised with DSLR but for Mirrorless it doesn't add up.. also Sony reported the highest Mirrorless sale for first half of 2018
The only thing I love from Canon is their tone and accessibility to lenses without using adapters. I would probably stick with Canon if I'm not doing much video, but since video is my main gig I could not justify it. There's so much more on offer with Sony. Recently I've used it for photo gig and it performed really well too.

Did you find a deal for the EF -> R adaptor? I was so tempted by this deal, but was put off by the price of the adaptor(looking for the filter drop in version), will wait for the new hype to die down and possible adaptor bundle.
I asked Canon why the EF adapter isn't bundled, and they said it was because not everyone had EF lenses. Then I asked why they launched a body only option without any lenses that you can buy separately, but they didn't have an answer. It seems that the camera comes with an adapter bundled in the UK at least. The basic EF to RF adapter is stupidly expensive for what it is.
poor offering from Canon. Other companies do mirrorless better.
Ah geez this is a good price. Just found out I have to move house and now my camera money is bond money.
Have sold all my canons and sonys, switched to iphone + dji :D
