I think it's only edge backlit :(
What is the warranty with the TV under ACL?
(It says 1 year from Samsung).
No defined period. Simply a "reasonable period of time" - take that as you will.
So basically a F U by them?
10 years. I had a samsung technician over to have our old tv checked. He says our tv has 10 years warranty.
10 years for the screen burn or the whole tv?
10 year burn in warranty. Pretty sure it's only 1 on the parts.
great price!
Spend extra 200 for oled.
My living room is incredibly bright, OLED is a bad idea for my home.
I've had the 65" version for a couple of months. Way better for my bright living room and a win win with Freesync. Awesome TV and a bargain at that price.
Get curtains and dimmers!
Nothing like the OLED screen in a dark room.
Open plan living area, large 3 panel glass sliding door, slim window above kitchen sink, stairwell with glass panels and a front door with glass. No OLED for me, even though I have the OLED cravings! Had a media room built, gave it to kids as a rumpus room… the tears.
It baffles me that they can sell these things for the same price as top of the line mobile phones…
Baffles me more than they can sell phones for the same price as these TVs…
Really, what does this have over a phone from a technical perspective?
It's simply larger and has a tuner…phones are far more complicated and have much higher R&D costs. In addition, it all needs to be done on a tiny scale by comparison.
That said, $1800 for a phone now days is rich.
I was giving it some thought,
Typically high end TVs have these over smartphones: Mass, a stand, interface ports, TV Tuner, IR, remote control.
Typically high end smartphones have these over TVs: Cellular Network Technology, NFC, battery, finger print scanner, cameras, touch screen, faster CPU / GPU, more RAM, storage capacity, accelerometer, gyroscope.
The 1440p at 120hz is so tempting. Any one else have a better recommendation for use with gaming PC?
If I recall correctly the Q7 and up have the multi zone array backlighting?
