    • Had to pull the trigger at this price! Plus TRS and it’s too good to pass up!

    • Awesome - thanks.

    • Respect!

    • Sic Kent :)

      Got 1

    • +2

suddenly all ozbargainers became UNSW alumnis haha

    • +3

I made an account just to say THANK YOU <3

    • +1

you are a legend, pity I ordered mine from mobilciti this morning :(

    • Ur legend mate. You save me a month or so of waiting until Xmas in hoping that the price will go down that deep!!

      • It will probably go down anyway.

This is a good deal, but since I'm not a legit UNSW alumni, I don't want to ruin it for other people, so I'll wait. There will probably be other deals close to it or maybe even surpassing it by the time I fly. And since I'm not even from NSW, it will look suspicious. They could call up and ask for my student ID.

If someone in a 20% off ebay deal sells it for $449, you'll be getting it for $359 but be able to get $44.9 TRS refund, bringing it to $314.3. With JB Commercial, you'd get it for $318 but it's morally questionable if you're not legit.

        • +2

Should be okay, it's a family and friend benefit.

          • @philz: Yes I had the same in my old workplace and there were no restrictions passing it on to all my network.

I also used it to purchase in-store, would essentially load my cart and show them the price and they would match (in majority of cases).

    • You are a bloody legend!

And For all those who can’t find it just type in the search box WH1000

    • +2

This account is going to get ozbargained so hard

    • +2

Fyi JB hi-fi don't have stock, so you all going to have to wait.

    • Thanks. Some other good deals here as well, such as the Jabra Elite Active 65t for 247.13!

    • Thank you! May as well roll the dice and see if it works out.

    • +3

Appreciate the sharing but probably best not to share commercial links. Last time someone did that, they just canceled the commercial account for the whole business. Legitimate customers are affected. I'll just wait for Ebay to have a 20% off sale.

      • +1

Well, they only posted a publicly accessible web page link, not the actual codes. That page even comes up in google searches.

      • What happened last time and what was the company?

      • +1

Login is officially down for all it seems.

    • Has anyone received confirmation and picked it from the store?

      • No stock and no ETA based off the email from JB. Would be keen to hear if anyone has been advised of a ETA on stock.

      • +1

The login is down… I haven't got any email yet. I think they won't honor.

      • No confirmation here :(

        • +1

Just a note here in case anyone in the future comes searching. I got the order confirmation email. It was a personal email from JP saying it was fulfilled. Also got an email/text stating Toll were on their way to deliver. Should be here later today (fingers crossed).

    • Received an out of stock email yesterday and a Letter of Authority email just then.

      • what did the letter say?

      • What is the letter of authority for?

      • Email states that the Letter of Authority is to be presented when collecting in store.

        • So good news then? You can collect it in store today?
I received order confirmation immediately this morning, but have not received anything else since.

    • +1

Looks like they have now changed/canceled the login details

      • +1

What I feared. Mods - any rules on these kinds of links? Possibly ruined for legit unsw alumni. @scotty you're unsw alumni?

        • It's the first result if you google "jb hifi unsw". I don't think it's much of a secret.

          • +1

@sourbones: Not many people would think to search for that. All for people using it if they find it. Don't think it should be shared here (just my opinion). Login would probably still be up if it wasn't

        • +1

I have found this link by Googling. When someone mentioned that commercial customers can get it for $353, I figured that logins might be available on the internet. It took me 2 minutes of Google to discover above logins.I found it by searching for "JB hifi commercial password"

      • +2

And looks like price is now $379.89

    • Anyone else still waiting for JB to send the letter of Authority? It's been over a week now.

      • Call the local store that you were going to pick up and ask them if they have stock. Then try calling jbhifi commercial

        • I sent JBCommercial an email and got my Letter of Authority a few hours later (perhaps just a coincidence). Picked up the the headphones on the way home.

It's just a pity that my phone can only do SBC and AAC and not aptX HD or LDAC. Hopefully Android Pie (when my Xiaomi finally gets it) will include better Bluetooth audio codecs.

          • @AdrianW:

Oh, maybe if you're desperate you can install a developer build now?

  • should i wait longer as the last day i'm waiting to buy it will be like December the 10th before i go on a holiday so do u think there will be better deal by then?

    • +1

stand in-front of a mirror and repeat: DO you feel lucky ?

      • Well, it sold out! it seems luck is not his side.

      • Well do ya, punk?

    • I'm sure there will be. Anyway the item is currently out of stock.

    • You can claim TRS within 60 days of purchase. So you don't have to wait that long. But yes I do believe it will be on some 20% off ebay sale by then.

  • Item is still in stock, just checked at 3:55pm Melbourne time.

  • Just got one now.. but it seems like i didn't buy through Shopback so there goes my 2.5%
Still I'm happy I can move on from QC35 II. Thanks!

  • Does anyone know if these ones are better that Bose Sound Canceling ones?

    • This one is better in every sense except the comfort and lightness-feeling. But sound quality is far greattttt !

      • The Bose have better call quality if you use the headset as handsfree and multi-mode if you carry multiple devices with you when out and about. I own both and find the Bose the more practical of the two.

  • Just an update for those curious with JB commercial deal:
I ordered yesterday, but got an email saying there's no stock. I asked them to proceed with the order anyway. I got a letter of authorisation. Called JB Hifi Moore Park, asking about my order, and they said it's already for pick up. Now, I'm using them.

    • Hey man,

      Sorry just wanted to clarify,

the letter of authorisation, what is that for?

I've also selected for pick up - (purchased yesterday) and have received no follow up email thus far. If i email them now, I assume they will say the same thing to me (out of stock). If i ask them to proceed with the order, does that mean they will send me a letter of authorisation and basically ship the headphones to the nominated store once they find stock? Am I also correct to assume, that if the store I selected has stock, they will put it aside for me once they receive word from JB Hi Fi commercial?

Sorry for the questions, I'm just trying to figure out what to do next, as I leave in 3 weeks overseas, and wanted to collect the TRS refund. Also, the questions I asked might sound a tad weird, but I've worked for companies in the past, in which their online store was completely separate from local stores (essentially a separate store), and thereby if the online store didn't have stock, you'd have to wait, as we weren't allowed to take stock from local stores. Trying to figure out if it is the same here.

      • +1

If in-store pickup, call the store directly for a status update on the order. I did and was advised it's ready for pickup! Despite no Ready for Pickup email.

        • thank you so much!

Edit: would I need the letter of authorisation (no idea what that is) for pick up? Assuming it is ready. I will give my store a call in about an hour when i finish from running errands.

          • +1

@eltito: Yes, you'd need a letter of authorisation. It's the confirmation for processed order. Try following up on your order with the customer support of JB commercial. They would say stocks are out, but if you call some JB hifi stores, they would have them.

      • +2

The email I received indicating no stock and no ETA also included instructions to wait for letter of authorisation before picking up in store (still awaiting letter). Hope that helps.

        • yes same thing as I got, not sure how you're supposed to advise them to proceed with order from that as some people seem to have done?

          • @LaughD1eme: I actually called up a store to see if there was stock. They had another colour so couldn't help. I then called jb commercial and got redirected a couple times, then told them I'm happy with any color and can pick up from any metro store. I'm then sent an email with instructions for how to collect from a store, which I'll don tonorrow. Can't wait!

            • @roddo: nice, congrats. I think I prefer the black one though, will call up the store and see, did you explain to them you made a commercial order?

        • Got my letter of authorisation today, ready for pick up.

          • @DanNRz: congrats, is this in NSW or somewhere else?

          • @DanNRz: Congrats! Did you have to email/call them to chase the LOA?

            • +1

@ttkc: Nope, I did reply with a follow up email in regards to the eta yesterday but received no response.

              • @DanNRz: I called them (jb commercial) and picked them up in WA. The store really weren't helpful and said they aren't involved in online orders but they can tell you about stock. The jb commercial lady said they're swamped with orders lol!

                • @roddo: I called the shop im supposed to pick up from and they said they had about 60 orders and no stock…apparently Sony restocks towards end of week so he expects to see more come in by friday.

    • I managed to order one before the link went down.
I've received the order confirmation on Monday but nothing since. Did anyone receive a shipment notice? (I picked the delivery option)

  • -1

typical me but I did things the reverse,
ordered it, and then went to play with one today at the shops today, and compared with qc35s

    first glance,
noise cancelling seems a bit more efficeient on the sonys, lets say bose 9.5, sonys 10.0

sound quality, I couldnt tell the difference

one big pro of the sonys, is I find them quite ugly, bose always win with that design,

but sonys seem sturdier and probably heavier

then tried some Beats, night and day in difference, beats no challenge to sony and bose
    regardless im happy

    • wow, so many people butthurt on here

      take a chill pill everyone

  • I just received it today and found out it does not include an AC adapter. Would any ac adapter and cable work fine with the headphones?

    • Just found out it does not work with my Oneplus 6 Dash Charger 4A. Sigh. Any good chargers out there?

      • Any smart phone charger will do.

Or any power strip with USB ports.

        • I have no clue what to buy. I'll just have to wait for someone to post in ozbargain. Hahaha. Thanks!

          • @ShopResponsibly: You don't need to buy anything…

There's a charging cable in the case - just plug it into a charger. I have no idea why your Dash Charger wouldn't work, but it's just a standard USB-C connection.

            • @callum9999: DASH charger has a much higher current compared to USB-PD complied charger. It actually doesn't charge a lot of devices that use USB C charging.

      • Any USB 5V chargers will be good. If you want fast charging, make sure it can supply 2-2.4A. It is normally printed on the power adapter (output section). I charged mine out of a power strip with USB ports and I used the port capable of 2.4A. It got charged to full within a reasonably short time. It must have been between 1-1.5 hour.

  • Thought I post here to say I have got mine. I also bought the Bowers Wilkins PX in the last deal. The ANC on the Sony is unquestionably better, like miles better. But I also felt that it just be different strategy. E.g. on the PX, I can still hear conversations but background noise is eliminated. On the Sony, everything is eliminated.

One very important thing though is that with ANC on, the Sony still sounds very good. Virtually no audible degradation. The PX with ANC on just sounded veiled in the mid to low end range.

Anyway if has questions between both models, I can help.

  • Just picked mine up, so looking fwd to it

    Like my first child

qc35s have been the legend of ozb, and now I have product thats supposed to be better!! :)

    • Oh, where did you pick up your first child from?

    • Please let us know how you feel about the sound quality compared with QC35.

      • +1

as per what someone said previously, the NC seems to focus on different feautres compared to qc35
both NC are very good, for the sony it seems to filter out all the background hum to a point that I had people walking up to me and talking to me from a distance and I couldnt hear them, it was surprisign

however if I tap soemthing metallic like a can, its quiter but Ican still hear it subtly,

        its pretty cool

bass on the sony seems better, to be honest the trebel seemed a bit avereage, on hgiher voluems, however ive never tried the qc35s on higher volume or that particular song

        maybe other people can commment

        • How about comfort? Bose more comfort than the Sony?

          • @boomersgold: I had the QC35 I (not II) and they are both just as comfortable. The XM3 has thicker pads compared to XM2 but they compresses out very quickly as if there's no padding. Its still comfy but if you press the cups to your head, you will feel the cups. There's no sharp edges or anything but you just feel it.

The XM3 is much lighter now by the way.

        • Some headphones or even bluetooth speaker 'adjusts' their EQ as volume is increase to prevent distortion. I do know the Bose Soundlink Mini does that. Maybe the Sony 1000XM3 does that? Have you tried turning off DSEE HX?

Just thought I'd give an update.

So I called JB commercial this morning and they said it had been processed and the store was showing stock so I could just go there and pick it up (even though I had not received an email confirmation yet). I then decided to check my email and realised I had received an email from JB commercial (timestamp about 2 hours prior to phone call) and the email stated there was the no stock, no ETA and wait for authority letter.

I had two conflicting opinions, so I just called the store with my order number, the guy checked and said it was ready to be picked up.

So for what it is worth, maybe call the store you assigned it too, and just see if it has been processed.

Just FYI, the order number changes once JB commercial process it, and that order number should start with 00 (or so I got told) and this is the order number to quote to the store. If you still have the JBCO order number, the store won't be able to work it out.

    Hope it helps.

    • Awesome… Dropped into melb central on the off Chance with my order no (without receiving a letter to pick up) and they'd had a delivery today and she ran out back and got a pair.. Thanks.

  • +1

For JB commercial, did you get invoice when you picked up or does it get emailed to you later?

    • I emailed and asked for one. Not sure if I'll be able to claim gst though. They made it look like unsw was the customer :S

      • Yeah I emailed and asked as well. The invoice is a bit weird, it does look like UNSW is the customer. Every other Family&Friend offer I have used has never included such detail in the invoice.

  • If you find a nice salesman/woman they can price match with JB Commercial.

    • did you managed to do that? mind posting a receipt? :)
