Damn, nearly double the price per KG of Manna Beans?

    • A kilo of manna is $35.

A kilo of Aldi Single Origin Colombian/Brazil bean is $12.90. Just saying…

The Aldi ones are nice! I tend to get their organic ones when they go on special at less than $3 per 250g. Makes me wonder how different these MCC beans will be at $54.33 kilo. I hope the poor farmers from the Village of Nuevo Trujillo and San Francisco in the San Ignacio province from the Cajamarca region get a fair share of profits from the sale of their beans.

How stale are the Aldi beans before they get to you though?

          • @TheBooleanOne: Aldi beans are actually great. They’re roasted in Melbourne, though roast dates aren’t on the packaging. Definitely not stale, great value.

          • @TheBooleanOne: They are great beans. You don't have to set your grinder to the lowest fine setting in order to get a good brew. I always go with 6-8 setting on my Breville.

      • A kilo of manna is $35.

More like $30 including express shipping, they post here frequently.

        • 2kg for $60
          1kg for $35.

@dasher86: Yeah, I'm pretty sure most people buy the 4 X 480 gram bags for $59.95. $30 per KG.

            • @aja12: what i was inferring is you cannot say it's double the price when you're working on a different price point for different quantities.
MCC sells a kilo for ~$45 non-promotional. ~30% more expensive than Manna promotional.

@dasher86: I know what you've been trying to say, I just disagree.

I never said it was double the price, I said it was nearly double the price.

Just because these guys aren't offering a 2kg quantity for a further per kg discount doesn't mean I can't compare the price to someone who actually does. Suggesting this is "not fair" is stupid. Why is it not fair? These guys aren't offering the cheaper rate, but it's not fair on them? What? Isn't Ozbargain about the consumer?

                Manna = 1.92kg for $60 delivered express.

These guys = 460 grams for $24 delivered.

Look at the Manna Bean posts to get an idea of how many people here order 2kg at a time. Im sorry if you dont think my comparison is fair, but it's relevant.

OP I reckon for $15 people would give it a crack. $25 not so much.

  • +1

    When was it roasted?

    • Given the high price, you'd think this information would be provided. I'd also be curious if they have some sort of fair trade certification.

Edit: In a previous post, the OP stated that "Our coffee beans are roasted to order so you will receive fresh beans every time." It's not clear if this statement applies to the current offer.

    • Freshness is key. All of our beans are roasted to order. If you have any other questions please send us a message at [email protected] Thanks
