Pricematch at Harvey and pay with 2x AMEX to get it for $409

    • +2

Don't forget to take it overseas and claim TRS :P

    • ohh that's good too.. unfortunately I don't have AMEX

      • Definitely don’t have two Amex.

    • sad that harvey caringbah dont do price match with teds

    • Where do I find this offer for amex?

  • I just bought one from Mr-dive in Melbourne yesterday
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GoPro-HERO7-Black-Action-Video-C…

used pay grade 10% off and then 10% off again using recent gift card purchase. and I'm travelling to japan in 2 weeks. so will be claiming TRS

    $600 - $60 - $54 - $49 = $438

    • PICKSOON - 15% instead of 10% off

      $600 - $90 - $51 - $46 = $413

    • GST 10% is 1/11 and is equivalent to 9.09% which is $54.55 for a $600 tax invoice.
@Archi you final cost is $431.45 (not $438).

      • +1

        yep

        • yep. just use the trs app to calculate this. it blows my mind too.

    • Hmm i thought Paygrade expired yesterday?

  • Absoloutely Loving this New GoPro Hero 7. First Go Pro and received mine yesterday.

    Bought here..

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GoPro-HERO7-Hero-7-Black-Action-…

Then used PAYGRADE to make it 10% Cheaper and then also used the 10% off Gift Cards. Travelling next month so further TRS…

    All up final cost….

    $529- $52.90 - $47.60 - $52.90 = $375.60 WINNING!!!!

    • +1

      It's saying $418 not $529 …

      • Not sure where your seeing $418. When I click my link it says $529. Unless the link now takes you to a newer listing for that seller?

      • +2

the $529 listing is gone. The one you are seeing is for another listing and is for the Silver not the Black

      • wow, this is the crappy Silver edition I've almost bought it thinking that was the black edition and it was saying last one

      • Yeah that's just the We found something similar suggestion (showing a Silver Edition), it shows the $529 listing for the Black above.

    • Did you get a tax invoice?

  • +10

i haven't even used my go pro hero 6 yet and theres already a new one out T_T

    • +2

That sucks, man! Send me your Hero 6 and you'll never have to look at that lazy, punk-ass action cam again - it's the least I can do to help a fellow OzB'er out.

      • +9

dm01, you have already done enough by showing your concern. This world needs more people like you. The least I can do is take the burden off you and put my hand up to take the camera. You work here is done dm01. Keep inspiring friend

  • Id consider myself pretty active and outdoor oriented. I ride mtn bikes, bow hunt, and travel to the exotic parts of the world most years.

I bought a hero 3 silver and i used it in south America and parts of South East Asia. I just find it such an after thought nowadays.
That coupled with the processing afterwards and the increased quality and ruggedness of certain phones…

Anyone want to buy a hero3 with accessories?

    • +1

not sure why downvoted. might be the bragging part.

but yeah, gopro's have their uses as an action cam but most people aren't absailing/rock climbing etc. all the time. so you've effectively got to lug around a bunch of mounts to use it for maybe 5% of your trip.

phones are getting so much better now, with video especially. so a gimbal is a better purchase.

      • +1

Wasn't bragging. Just stating facts of times/places ive used it and then disregarded using despite it being 'gopro' territory.
As in; thought given my lifestyle i'd actually use it more.

Hope the neggers who think bonnydoon is a big holiday arent too hurt.

        • +1

nothin like a gopro to capture that serenity at bonnie doon

        • +1

I went to Bonnie Doon a few few years back and while the town isn't anything too special, some of the scenery around there was very nice - got some great photos!

          • @dm01: Yea, its a beautiful area, truth be told :)

  • Is this good for home made videos?

    • +2

It’s great if you use a gimbal as well.

      • +3

They just need to get a tripod and mount it. Gimbals may help but depending on the type of home made video we're talking about, it might not be enough?

        • And keep in mind the GoPro is waterproof in its on right - you'll only need an external housing if your home movies involve going particularly deep.

  • I have been thinking to buy one instead of carrying DSLR for overseas trip. Is it good for portrait and group selfie, or only for scenery?

    • Pretty good for travelling. Get a chesty mount and suction cup for glass and your set. Although a selfie stick would be handy too, plus a smoothQ…. ha ha

These days I just use the phone, 95% useful for my needs.

    • It's primarily for FPV action (first person view). But you can get creative and use it for anything, it's just that the wide angle won't be ideal in all situations.

      • You can have a linesr mode, so it doesn’t have that gopro weird frame thing. But it’s digitalised.

    • +1

go pros are great for video but the photos in suck, you're most likely would be better off with your phone.

if you're going to go through the hassle of carrying something specifically for photos take your dslr.

im thinking up upgrading from the hero 2 but ive used the hero 2 minimal times, think the money is better spent of a dive housing for the dslr.

  • +2

JB price matched without any problems

  • Did anyone get a screenshot of this, I added it to cart and the price literally changed whilst on the phone with Harvey Norman Liverpool, whom didnt even have stock!
    Spewing!!

  • The sony action camera series have better quality.

  • +1

it is over, they have changed the T&C and excluded the hero 7

just reported it to mark as expired

    • I’d be curious to see if they honour the purchases.

      • +1

hopefully. I am glad I got it from JB.

        • I ordered one through Ted’s about an hour ago, was about to call and cancel and match through JB.

    • what did they change in the T&C?

      • ahh, the 15% storewide, right. =]

  • Planning to purchase this soon. Will I be able to capture the Southern Lights through Hero 7 Black?

    • +1

      http://brendanmarsh.com/uncategorized/how-to-film-the-northe…

I imagine the newer model can do better.

      • Thanks for the link, the Southern Lights are not as vivid as it's Northern counterpart. Do you think Hero 7 will be able to capture Southern Lights as well? Sorry, if it's asked before..

        • +1

Auroras can be tricky to catch effectively with even with a proper camera - while a GoPro can get a result, as shown in the link above, if getting decent footage or photos is important to you, you'd be better using a larger-sensor camera.

If a GoPro is all you have available to use, then you'll want to play around with longer exposures until you find the right balance between exposure duration, noise, and movement of the aurora itself. A longer exposure will give a brighter capture, but will blur the shape of the aurora if it's moving quickly (they can change very quickly at times).

It's can be trial and error for a little bit until you get a nice result, so don't give up if at first you don't like the results.

Brightness of the aurora can vary a lot too - catch them on a good night and it's amazing!

          Good luck!

  • Just realised the offer is expired….

  • +1

God damn it should have called up to reserve but thought id just pick it up after work.

    Forst ebay now this urghhh

  • why code pay grade expired

  • Anyone still been able to get a price match?

  • +1

Got one for $409.96 with price match and 2x AMEX cards deal

    • Where'd you get the price match from?

      • It was this morning before Hero7 excluded from the sale

  • Hi OP, i think It’s back online Sitewide with 15% off

  • +1

Has anyone has their GoPro ship yet? Mine has been stuck at allocating stock since an hour after the deal going live.

    • +1

The same for me. I guess they don't have enough. They got ozbargained mate, lol

      • I was thinking that; however, they still have them listed @RRP in stock. Hoping they resolve it quickly as I had overseas on the 18th of Oct

        • Yeh hopefully they start shipping in the coming week. Give them a call see why they have a delay in that.

    • My order has changed to Complete. I don't know what exactly it means but I'd say its read for shipping. How is yours?

      • Same, hopefully we will see some movement soon.

        • +1

Checked with them and it means it's been shipped. Then I got Tracking but Its coming with standard postage with estimated time 8 Oct, I guess bcuz I had a free postage with TedsClub they've used the cheapest postage. Last time I paid for postage It came with express and took one or two days.
Considering It's coming from Melbourne and I'm in Gold Coast, it might be different for u.

          • @AJ10: Thanks mate, I’ll give them a call tomorrow as I need to track down a tax invoice for TRS. In Perth, so hopefully should arrive. :)

            Cheers
