I paid this much for non-RGB Ripjaws a month ago - although they are 3200.
Yeah, I was able to get 32Gb for that price back when 6TH gen released, so I still waiting for price to drop around those prices.
I have non RGB version (white ones) 32GB and has been really stable and I was able to overclock them to 3000 stable.

Very likely no but if you are using the second gen there is no problem I would say.
most seem to be CL16 …not sure if there is better deals on 3000mhz …most people probably preffer faster refresh rather than RGB for bling.
