Was recently notified by Neil regarding a significant price drop on the KSC75 at $27. KSC75 price has dropped further to $22.53. Past posts indicate the price hasn't been this low since 2014 to mid-2015. Alternatively, Massdrop has released a dark blue version which includes a one-touch remote for controlling your audio and can be used to make calls. The KSC75x by Massdrop are priced at $16.99 + shipping and are expected to start shipping from November 19th. For those indifferent with having a remote, the original KSC75 provides a cheaper price point, faster delivery, having the certainty of knowing the build quality, and allows the buyer to deal with Koss's Limited International Warranty through Amazon Australia (having the ESP9500 fixed by a domestic retailer is great for many owners).
Let's quickly take a look at the specs:
- Sport clip design fits neatly around each ear, with pivoting earplates for a comfy fit
- Titanium-coated drivers deliver accurate sound reproduction with little distortion
- Neodymium iron boron magnets offer deep bass performance for an extended frequency response
- Cord measures four feet long; L-shaped 3.5 mm plug
- Limited lifetime warranty
Here's my opinion: Due to the open nature of these headphones, they are a large step up from stock earphones packaged with flagship mobile phones. The bass is muddy but will sound more punchy after 50+ hours of burn in. Midrange is very clear but sounds too artificial for my liking. The trebles are the most satisfying and add an airiness to the instruments playing. A big shout out to those wearing glasses - these are extremely comfortable when I have my Rayban sunnies on. Interestingly, these are some of the most modded headphones ever. The Kramer mod is the most renown. If you are into high res audio and enjoy side projects, consider taking up the challenge to push this over-ear headphone to its limits.
