          COOL STORY BRAAAH

        • I bought new one plus 6 for less than 1000 within a month, liked it, loved it, used it, dropped it, now it is time for one plus 6t. there is nothing significant for me in one plus 6, happy with Pocofone f1.

  • This is bigger than my manhood.

    • price or size.. you talking:)?

      • Let's say both :)

I don't know… I saw one first hand yesterday and was quite blown away.

Better screen that's for sure. Especially now that Apple is buying LG pOLED which are cheaper but at the same time worse (Pixel 2 XL QC anyone).
Has Apple Pay along with Google Pay so that's an advantage, especially if you are travelling. Apple Pay isn't available in many countries but Samsung is.
Comparable camera. It boils down to who like what but objectively speaking there is no clear winner.
Has the S Pen and functions that iPhone doesn't.
Bigger battery (that go up in flame or so they say).

        • To be clear, Apple's supplier of OLED screens for the iPhone X was Samsung. For the iPhone XS it is Samsung and LG.

  • Earlier this week it was reported that a woman from Long Island in the United States was filing a lawsuit against Samsung because her Samsung Galaxy Note 9 allegedly caught fire in her handbag.

    • I received terrible customer service from them years ago, vowed not to buy samsung phones and bought two more after that because of limited choices. Glad that there are a lot more brands to choose from now.

      • +1

        What are you using now?

Hwawei mate 10, very good so far

What a bargain, $1165.50 with ebay plus and receive $1,000,000 cashback when clicking through a lawyer.

Jokes aside, I hope this phone doesn't hurt people and go the way of the s7 for Samsung

Jokes aside, I hope this phone doesn't hurt people and go the way of the s7 for Samsung

What was wrong with the S7?

        • +1

I think he meant Note 7.

        • @sena86: I know.

        • There is now an S7 Edge going up in flame, after a Note 9 Napalm.

Of course, could be fake news.

    • Thanks I won't buy one anyway

1 report. Of millions sold. Even iPhones have had such scares of their phones in the recent past, where an iPhone here or there has been reported to explode/catch fire.

  • Whats the difference on this one:
    https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-9-Dual-Sim…

With Plug5 code it comes to $1167. For people who don’t wanna go ebay plus.

SM-N960FZKDXSA is what they noted down in the description however in the title they used "N960FD"
The description also notes 1 year Aussie warranty — which is warranty with the vendor only.

The N960FD variation is an international model sold for regions such as Hong Kong, Europe and "ROW" (rest of world), so if you are going to purchase from that seller you should ask for the IMEI number and do a check before you buy.

Samsung Australia will only repair Samsung region mobile phones, and they also have a limited warranty on Galaxy phones for two years. This is not honoured if your phone isn't made for the Australia market.

      • funnily enough, that phone would probably have a Snapdragon 845 which is slightly faster graphics wise than the one in the OP (Exynos)

Personally, i'd go for local stock any day. The grey market ones always seem like a good option but to save a few $, its just an overall bad decision as you will have half the warranty, and ALL of the headache of returning it when it stops working.

        • The 960-FD is exynos. Snapdragon is 9600 or 960U/U1
I got the snapdragon variant of the Note 8 (9500) and am quite happy with it despite lack of samsung pay as it came with Dual Sim/256GB which wasnt offered here last year.

At this ask, buy Aussie stock only

    • +3

You’re too late for the joke.

      • -6

        What joke? Google it.

        • It's one report out of tons of phones, it's quite normal.

You can get this for as low as $1048.95 if you have eBay plus and use gift cards purchased at 10% off.

    • Can you please explain? you would only get $50 worth of extra discounts right? 1165 - 50 = 1115?

      edit: typo

      • +2

If you have multiple eBay accounts you can get more then 5 gift cards. I happened to buy $1800 worth of gift cards (8x $200, 2x $100) using the eBay UK 10% off loophole from last week.

Edit: Looks like you can only use 7 gift cards when combined with a discount voucher in a single transaction.

        • +1

That's the official line, but people have reported being able to use more.

e.g. here and here and here.

        • +1

@eug: Thats good to know! They must of scratched that rule and now only go by the $2000 gift card limit per day.

  • Can U stack the $500 (5x$100) worth of eBay gift cards with deal?
    *Edit: just answered above!^

  • +2

Still cheaper to price match becextech with officeworks.

  • Thanks OP. Will claim TRS as well.

Looks like Samsung is becoming the Apple of the android market.

  • Is the dual sim on note 9 in active-active configuration where i can use both at the same time?
If so, which data quota does it use and if there is a way to configure it?

    • +1

      According to GSMArena:

Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)

      Also:

microSD, up to 512 GB (uses SIM 2 slot) - dual SIM model only

Don't know about this phone specifically, but my V20 (also Hybrid Dual SIM) allows data quota to be set independently, and I select which SIM will be used for data.

  • BRUUH where is the 8GB RAM 512GB VERSION? seems like there are only bad stocks of the 128gb and 6gbram left…

  • Good to see Mobileciti have straightened up their act after the last fiasco

  • -1

    No band 27. No deal!!!

    • +1

We don't even use B27? Australia uses B28

      • What is this band thing ? Read few times but cant understand.

        • +1

Probably not worth worrying about unless youre with Telstra and in a metro area and really care a lot about speeds…

  • I get error code everytime i tried the code. Still $1295. Joined ebay plus yesterday.

Unless you need a phone very urgently, I would wait for a better price as Samsung's inflated new model prices tend to drop quickly. My family member and I had main board and home button issues with our 6 month old Galaxy S6 and we had to wait for more than two weeks to get them fixed under warranty and the customer service was terrible.

Please to note that Samsung only provides one major software update even for the high end flagship models.

Samsung is infamously slow at applying new Android updates. In sharp contrast, Apple is offering the new iOS 12 update on the same release date even for iPhone 5S which was released on 2013 which is the SAME year as Samsung Galaxy S4.

After the bad S6 experience I purchased an iPhone 7 so I am hoping to get another 2 or 3 major software updates

    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/26/galaxy-s9-think-twice-before…
Google first announced Android O, which later became Android Oreo, last May. Samsung's Galaxy S8, last year's phone, is only just now starting to get the update. That's almost a year later. Worse, Samsung is issuing the software update only to phones that aren't on carriers, which also need to approve the software before it rolls out. Those devices may not get the software until later this year, if at all, depending on which carriers approve it and how long the process takes.

    • First of all, the A and S series both get 2 major OS updates. The S series even sometimes gets 3. You are right that they are slow with OS updates. Also, Samsung's UI has way more features than stock Android anyways so you aren't rly missing anything.

  • The note 9 is freaking expensive but seems a bargain compared with the latest iPhone. Especially that xr model.
