Just saw this deal on the Oneplus 6. Thought it was fairly cheap from an Australian site.
Don't forget Cashrewards for 3% off! And vouchers if you get them through one of the sales.

New one (OP 6T) gets announced shortly.
Sounds like another high end phone maker who did a similar thing… And then gave their buyers the option of some $200 wireless headphones to make up for the lack of no headphone jack on their devices.
Best to buy a Pocophone, you save some money and also get a headphone jack. OnePlus is a bad company now, years ago they used to make a cheap flagship, but now more than ever they are trying to become a premium brand like Samsung or Apple.
I bought a POCO F1, sounded great with all the buzz around premium specs. But in reality the only thing premium about it is the SD845. Apart from that it's the same old crappy LCD panels, RAM and SSD that is used in sub $300 Xiaomi phones (I also have a Mi A2, Redmi Note 56 and Mi8 to compare against).
No band 28 and no NFC on the Pocophone. I need both (rural area for B28 and NFC for work and payments).
The whole headphone jack is a non issue because my Meizu headphones are Bluetooth.
Oneplus are now owned by Oppo, so you have the crap part right, but at least they don’t use buggy piece of crap Oppo call ColorOS on the Oneplus.
And considering the latest Samsung S9/Note prices and the eye watering iPhone prices announced a few days ago, I still think that for what the Oneplus offers, it’s a premium product at a reasonable price.
@pegaxs: OnePlus were always owned by BBK Electronics (who also own Oppo and Vivo)
@crazycs: I would personally pocket the $200 from the Pocophone. I really personally cannot tell much of a difference between a good LCD and OLED. There are differences with viewing angles and brightness, but I most of the time you are looking at your phone head on either in the dark on inside where it's little of an issue.
@KARMAAA:
hahaha come on man, I don't believe you can't tell the difference. It's night and day.@snagseb: You know my experience and how my eyes work? Amazing. You should be my doctor.
Should have gone to Spec Savers.
@crazycs: which one do you prefer out of these? Need to get one for my parents.
@Skyway:
Mi A2 is a great phone for the price, bare in mind it doesn't have B28, NFC or a headphone jack but it does come with Android One (stock Android). The Mi A2 Lite comes with a headphone jack, has slightly inferior specs but is also a solid option (I actually got this one for my parents!)
In addition to lack of LTE band 28 and NFC mentioned by pegaxs earlier, the Poco F1 does not have OIS (comes handy at low light situations and zoom-in photos) and it only comes with Corning Gorilla glass screen protection (most phones these days have Corning Gorilla 3 or above).
Nevertheless, the POCO F1 phone still represents a good value but people need to be aware that there are some features missing from the phone compared to let's say, OnePlus 6.@pegaxs: mi mix 2 $400
We're about 4 months into their 6 month cycle, with this being the current newest but the 6t will be out in Novemberish.
NOTE: There are two models of the Oneplus 6 - A6000 which is for the Asian markets and A6003 which is for US and EU.
The A6003 has 3 extra network bands (30, 32 and 71).
Do you need those bands? For what network?
I don't believe we need those network bands in Australia.
30 and 71 are US Bands. None of them used in Australia & Europe, and 32 is only used in Italy.
Thanks for clarifying! Didn't realise there was a difference
OnePlus 6T just around the corner.. inscreen fingerprint scanner
There is always a new phone/version 'just around the corner'. This has been >$900 since release making it a pretty good deal.
The 6T will be >$950 for at least the next 6 months making it a bit of a dud comparison.Really? I didn't realise they were so exxy. Bought a OnePlus One which was great but wouldn't have bought it at that price!
I actually prefer the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, where my index finger could touch comfortably. As phones are getting bigger, it is harder to grip a phone and use your thumb at the same time.
I just ordered the 128gb midnight black version from eBay with the eBay plus coupon. Ends up being $632 delivered. Less for the mirror black one.
Do you have a link?
thanks mate
WHats the difference between your link and this one?
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OnePlus-6-Mirror-Black-Dual-4G-L…@csrnomercy: it's the finish. Glossy fingerprint magnet vs matte style
You can just use a case if don't like fingerprints. There's actually some amazing designed cases on aliexpress for a couple bucks each
hey, with PLUSIT15 it comes to 662.57 for me.. what am i missing? :(
So this does or doesn't have a headphone jack? It would be a deal breaker for me if it doesn't :(
OP6 has a headphone jack. OP6T (not yet released) will not
That's because OP6T is premium and only 88% of people like headphone jacks
It has one. The 6T that will be announced next month won't have one though. I have the OnePlus 6 and it's an excellent phone, even coming from the Pixel 2XL. The 6T won't be much of an upgrade either - same processor etc.
Awesome. Wondering if their is any opinions on the DAC it uses and if it's good for sound quality at a decent volume. I listen to a lot of music through the phone and sometimes it can be hard getting enough volume lol
It has APTXHD support, which the samsungs only has support for APTX
It has a decently powerful amp, and I have no issues with the quality I've gotten out of it. I've got a separate music player, but I have tried the OnePlus 6 with various IEM's and headphones I own and it's definitely not lacking in the audio department.
Does the price include GST?
If you purchase from ebay AU seller 7272wil there is no extra 10% for GST as they have AU registered address but still grey import ( not sure how they do that, but bonus to us ). See new listing here tonight for the OP6 from 7272wil.
Thank you. Does 7272wil a reputable seller?
Not too bad, but buy carefully. I pulled the trigger from them on a Nokia 6.1 2018 and then realised there were different similar but different models with slightly differing roms ( no OTA updates for AU ) and could not confirm the exact model nimber with them, cancelled order and they were happy to do that straight away, then ordered from qd_au instead as they quoted exact model number I wanted. Just my experience.
@ozhunter68: also got mine from qd_au working a charm. For under $300 can't go wrong
Did you get a Nokia 6.1 2018 TA-1068 from them? Actually I had update issues with that one a few months ago not wanting to update via wifi but only via the dta through a sim. Not sure if that is unique to this model as I read there were many issues with that same/similar issue worldwide with various model numbers. Not blaming qd_au for that, more Nokia I think, or Google haha
@ozhunter68: Yeah went the ta-1068 because other model was more expensive and I couldn't really find any difference in them. When I received mine did like 6 updates in a row and been all peaches since.
Were you able to download the updates via wifi, or did you also need to have an active sim installed and using the mobile data like me?
@ozhunter68: I think I might have been on mobile data to be honest because the wifi doesn't reach well in some areas so I think I just used my mobile data. I have 30gb only use like 5-10 normally so I wasn't too bothered.
That makes sense, that's why all your updates have gone through as sweet as peaches. The update issues mainly were on wifi according to the Nokia forums.
Yeah, the invoice I received from Catch has GST included roughly $70.
Whats the deal with warranty on these? Or is there just no warranty provided?
Grey, grey grey,…allll the way.
Seriously though, would have to go though individual seller for 12 months and would depend on each store what experience you get.
For that price you are better off with the Pixel 2XL. Still the best Android phone to date if you enjoy pure Android experience without the extra irrelevant fluff
I have this phone (128gb storage 8gb ram variant) and love it. Couple of things for the uninitiated though:
- the phone uses oppo/oneplus exclusive dash/VOOC charging for fast charging. It's fantastically fast and amazing… but if you want spare chargers that fast charge your phone and you've never had one before that's more money up front.
-It doesn't look like the catch model comes with a warranty (by all means correct me!)… so you're probably going to be on your own as there's no in country support for this phone.
Proprietary charging, no warranty. Gotcha.
The seller TECHINSEA profile on Catch says "We provide 1 year international seller warranty for the product." whatever that means.

Careful with Catch, guys. I've just checked my Paypal receipt from my purchase today with them, they've charged me $29.97 for shipping and handling, then applied the discount. Not supposed to be the case for Ebay plus members, not supposed to be charged shipping at all.
Called Ebay and they were no help. Told me to take it up with Paypal - whom are closed for the day. Not too happy about this 'membership.' so far.
my bro bought one
Bought the 256gb version last month for ~800. It's now less than $717 with cashrewards. Might not be A6000, I still love it.
with eBay plus code PLUSIT15
Does it include global rom?
Can I claim TRS on any of this?
Only if you pay GST.
Probably not best to ask on a mobile phone post, but just in case anyone has a spare $15 off catchconnect code they don't need, I can make use of one if you want to PM me..
Thanks
(and for anyone that wasn't aware, purchase anything on catch and they'll send you a $15 off voucher for catchconnect, providing you have marketing emails turned on)
I've got at least one floating around, send me a pm happy to share after work when I get home.
Cheers but got it sorted in the end. I think those expired 30/9 btw.
This the new one?
Oneplus ran a poll where they found that 88% of their users wanted a headphone jack so they removed the headphone jack to "give them what they wanted".
