Which car parks is that for, as none of the ones listed in the OP require that (last time I used them) unless you’ve chosen vallet.
Wintergarden does. Their website lists ones where they do. The problem is their list isn’t accurate. I turned up to one that wasn’t listed and they wanted my keys. Managed to argue them out of it in that instance by agreeing to have my car blocked by another car until my estimated leaving time (kind of defeats the point of paying for parking).
I think it comes down to how busy they are and if can they squeeze more cars in by double parking. Considering how busy it will be on Riverfire night….
Do you mind linking where they list this?
Here's an example one. https://www.secureparking.com.au/en-au/car-parks/australia/n…
I've had the same experience and after they lost my keys and forgot where they put my car (made me wait 1.5hrs) I don't park with them anymore!
My mind boggles how they can think it’s acceptable. Especially for the price they charge.
Be prepared to leave your keys with complete strangers for them to move your car around as they wish. I don’t trust this company anymore.
